Very cold wind here today, dry until about 3pm.

We Went to the victorian Market at Gloucester docks, about 200+stalls. We didn't have time to look at them all and it was really crowded, but the atmosphere was great. There is a skating rink as well surrounded by nice smelling food stalls. However we were meeting friends at Carluccios for our pre Christmas lunch when we exchange cards and presents.

We had a lovely time sat down about 1pm and left the restaurant at 3.15. They live over the river on the border of Wales and Gloucester so had a drive home of about an hour.we walked up into town and caught the bus which stuck in a jam for 10 - 15 minutes. We took an hour to get home as well. :-)

PatinCyprus Report 22 Nov 2016 13:27

Crawled into the 20s just this afternoon. Been dull and lots of grey clouds but no rain. Been windy since early morning. Walking the dog soon, must put something in my right ear or I'll have earache.

UK has had a buffering and a drenching I see. Flooding near my children but they'll be OK as they are on highish ground away from the rivers.

Hope all GR members are OK.

Out this evening, don't fancy going really as it'll be quite cool returning home :-(. We really feel the cold now we are acclimatized to Cyprus weather. I know I'll enjoy it once there. :-D

Have a good evening all. :-) <3

AnninGlos Report 22 Nov 2016 21:39

Good evening all, yesterday was pretty awful here torrential rain most of the day. It stopped for awhile at 11am so we nipped up the road and caught the bus to town. (Well take 'nipped' loosely, we don't do nipping anywhere these days). Anyway we had a wander round the shops and lunch in Wetherspoons. But when we came out to go home it was torrential rain again so we got pretty wet walking from the bus while avoiding the puddles caused by blocked drains. Still we tend not to get flooded here while other parts of Gloucester suffer and Bristol had it really bad this time.

Ok Barbra, see you at the end of the week.

I have ironing to do as well :-|.

Only 11 C last night but it's 19 C and sunny now. Forecasts for storms in the week, we need the water.

Not out today at all. Will be watching football later - it's me that watches it OH isn't interested.

Hope you all have a pleasant Sunday. Have a good week Barbra :-)

PatinCyprus Report 28 Nov 2016 13:17

Walked the dog just after 7 am and it was only 12 C now 21 C. Lovely in the sun as it's still warm.

Took friend to local jeweler's to have 2 links taken out of her watch. Not charged for doing the job, she was delighted. I then took her to the hairdresser's in the village and we got our hair cut. We are now ready for Christmas :-D

Friend will be 80 the beginning of 2017. It's only the last 12 months she's had mobility problems. That's not bad as in her early 50s she was told she had osteoarthritis, it had started in her feet and the specialist could tell it was starting in her hands and spine. Last winter it finally caught up with her, she reckons that the spread slowed down when she came to live out here.

Not out tonight but have still got some ironing to do. We are in the process of sorting out the clothes as we are now in winter clothes. The summer clothes will go into large plastic bags to be vacuum packed and into the divan drawers.

The dog is lying by me with her paw against my foot. I can't move without her knowing, It's less that quarter of an hour to her walk. :-D

Hope you all have a good day :-) <3

AnninGlos Report 28 Nov 2016 16:00

Lovely sunny day here but nippy. I haven't been out, I decided I couldn't ignore the dust any longer so dusted all round and gave my office a good tidy up, always a mess after making Christmas cards. Now present wrapping which seems to be going on for ever. My fault as I always buy several little presents for grandchilldren, Gt Grandchildren and daughter. :-) :-)

PatinCyprus Report 29 Nov 2016 16:23

Walked the dog this morning but not this afternoon - it's actually raining and has been for hours. It's been bouncing at times and we had a minor thunderstorm. Lots of water running down the road so we'll have muddy roads this evening when we go out.

The ground is so hard and dry the first rainwater runs across the ground picking up the dusty top layer. It then runs into the road and leaves deposits of mud all over the road.

Future rains will get rid of it but that's a slow process. Near us we have 2 traffic calming humps in the road and that's where a lot of the muddy water gets caught up.

Off out to a Chinese buffet tonight. We aren't staying too long as we are now out every night for the rest of the week.

Heard that it's cold in UK. Keep warm all and have a good evening :-) <3

PatinCyprus Report 30 Nov 2016 09:47

Had an eventful morning. Took dog for her early morning walk and the heavens opened as we were going past the olive grove. It's not far from where we live but we got wet. I had put a big coat on with a hood but the dog was dripping when we got in. Had to dry her before I gave her some food.

Soon after the dog had eaten we started to get very strong winds, the dog got under the dinning table. I coaxed her out and then the storm hit. I spent the next hour cuddling the dog on the settee. Last winter storms didn't bother her but she was a pup so the pup wasn't frightened but the adult dog is. :-0 She's fine now. Hope she'll be alright tonight as we have an anniversary do to go to.

The Red Arrows landed here yesterday and I've got a Twitter pic of them sitting waiting for the weather to get better to get back to UK. They've finished off this year's displays with a trip to China and the Middle East.

Hope you all have a good day and the weather warms up for you, it's 15 C here. :-) <3

PatinCyprus Report 1 Dec 2016 09:56

Well it's December, Christmas not far away.

Had 2 thunder storms during the night and 1 this morning, dog not happy she isn't going too far from us this morning. Managed a walk in quite pleasant weather but soon changed just after we got back. Only 14 C, don't think it'd going to go much warmer today.

OH is in trouble with his ribs, we are supposed to be out the next 3 nights. Can see all 3 visits being curtailed to eating then coming back home.

Barbara <3

Hope you all have a good day :-) <3

Hope you are now rested Barbra. :-)

Weather's changed, after all the rain yesterday was much better and today has started sunny and warm already at 18 C that's up 1 degree on what it's forecast to be and only 09.30.

Dog and OH off to get the Sunday paper. I've got 3 loads of washing to do, 2nd 1 almost done. Getting it done whilst I can get it dried.

Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.

:-) <3

AnninGlos Report 4 Dec 2016 11:49

Joan you have your Christmas name. I wondered if anyone was going to change this year, only a few did last year. Remember when nearly everyone changed?

Very frosty here this morning but lovely and sunny now. done one load of washing, written a letter, e mailed grandsons. Yesterday we put the tree up, it is getting a bit frazzled but still looks good when the ornaments are on it. It must be 30 years old now, cost us £25 so we have done well out of it. Just got a few more floral bits to do, OH is putting lights up as we speak, then that will be all ready for little visitors.

Barbara, hope you have managed a nap or two.

Pat, that temperature sounds better than ours. :-D
