TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 1 Dec 2017 23:57

Well, I like all the couples who are still in. Some I have warmed to, eg Davood and Gemma. Some I have liked from the beginning, e.g. Alexandra and Debbie.

It took me a little while to get used to AJ, not at all keen his first season, but now I think that he is great.

I have really taken to Alexandra, pretty sure that she was in one of those talent contests, (can't remember which one) and the she came first or second. So had seen her on the box before Strictly Don't watch Holby, Emmerdale or Eastenders, (but might have seen Joe in something else). Not sure if I had seen Mollie singing with her pop group, (on t.v.) Had seen a few of the ones that have left.

I reckon that Alexandra is rater driven, she spends hours in the gym every day (when not training for Strictly) has admitted to being fanatical about keeping her home clean and tidy. I think that she demands perfection of herself in every dance that she does. Therefore she hangs onto every word said by the judges, so that next time she can be perfect. To me she seems to appreaciate constructive crititism. But I have also seen her having a giggle, so she can be fun too.

Joe and Mollie are the only dancers left in the contest that haven't done the Samba yet. So far the only person who has been in the Dance Off with the Samba id Debbie (who stayed)

Last year, if my records are correct, only five couples danced The Samba,
Laura Whitmore and Giovanni in week five (Laura left)
and Robert Rinder and Oksana in week eleven (musicals week) - He left too.

Haven't got any records for previous years.

My favourites are, in no particular order ;-), Davood, Debbie, Joe & Mollie :-D

Yes, I do watch EastEnders but I wouldn't say I'm a particular fan of Davood's :-D From someone who had never danced before I think he has done extremely well and each week impresses with the new techniques he has learnt:-D. He can do the lifts, he can show grace and elegance as he did in the Waltz last week, and he is leading his lady with confidence.:-D. Looking forward to the Argentine Tango my fav dance :-D

Again, not a fan of Debbie's but I do admire her for showing those that are less than half her age how it should be done :-D. She really is flying the flag for ' women of a certain age' ;-) :-D

Joe has grown on me over the last couple of weeks... I thought his quick step was exceptional :-D. He needs another good week to show it wasn't a fluke :-D

Mollie deserves 10 out of 10 for perseverance :-D She is fearless when it comes to the lifts that AJ does and I think she is right up with Debbie then :-D. However, she lets herself down with forgetting moves although she is getting better....hoping she has a good week this week :-D :-D

Gemma is inconsistent and you never know which Gemma is going to turn up :-0

Alexandra, I'm one of those that just can't warm to her :-(. There is no doubt she is a good dancer but she knows it....she had a bit of a wake up call though last week :-D

I too think it might be Gemma's week to wave goodbye :-(

Gosh I can remember Joe from Take the High Road, and The Crow Road. Then of course he has been in a couple of costume dramas, notable Cranford. He has a cheeky grin which I do like.

Only time will tell tonight, but I do think the clock is ticking down on Gemma, sadly.

Unless it is a shock exit again......................

MotownGal Report 2 Dec 2017 20:34

Hmmmm, well I thought Debbie and Joe were exceptional again.

AJ can rock a white t-shirt cant he? And I thought Gemma upped her game too.

Davood did some fantastic lifts, but not enough content as far as the tango was concerned for me. Still only my opinion.

That Jeanine was up the front again! As me dear old Mum used to say 'She isn't backward in coming forward' is she?

:-D :-D :-D

LondonBelle Report 3 Dec 2017 07:51

Hmmmm indeed...it's getting difficult now :-0

Debbie did so well :-D :-D

Now, I didn't like Joe's Samba but that was just my personal opinion :-0. But the judges did :-D

I thought Mollie's Rumba was nicely done too..a dance I'm not particularly keen on. A third successive week of good comments from the Judges :-D

Davood disappointed this week but what a difficult dance to do :-(

Gemma did better this week and I too think she does do better when holding her partner :-D

Alexandra's Charleston was energetic but to me lacked feeling :-(

I think it will be Davood & Gemma in the dance off but who to go :-S Toss a coin :-D :-D

I think it will be a shock exit. Not gonna go for the spoiler though.

It seems much more difficult for the man to be spectacular in the Argentine Tango than the woman. Especially when the female is throwing her legs around and distracting from the man.

I thought Davood did hid best, Debbi did well, Mollie was good, Jo was good (I don't like and find it difficult to judge both the Rumba and the Samba), I didn't think Alexandra's Charlestone was particularly good, Gemma was ok and I like her personality but I think she is one who could well be in the dance off. Depending on the public it could also be Davood or Mollie. all my personal likes/dislikes and I can't remember the judges marks. Except was not sure why Craig gave Debbi (I think) a 9 when all the others gave a 10.

Tabitha Report 3 Dec 2017 10:39

It was a very good show

As much as I hate to say it Gemma was by far the worst and I didn't like Mollies.

For me I would put them both in the dance off.

I loved Joe and Debbie and really enjoyed Davood I thought he did really well.

There was something about Alexandra - the costume was too short and her legs looked very chunky with those stupid boots - she needed a longer skirt to cover her legs and the sweet Victorian lady like boots if she was going to ware any. I spent so long wondering what was wrong with her legs i missed the dance.
She seemed so very much out of proportion.

Its going to be a hard choice from now - I voted for Joe - Davood and Debbie this week (laying my cards on the table)

Annx Report 3 Dec 2017 15:53

I enjoyed it too and loved Joe' and Debbie's dances the best. Mollie's didn't have enough expression for me and Davood's didn't really have the choreography to show him off as well as it could have done, he didn't have enough oomph in his posture. I liked some of Gemma's, but she still seems a week or two behind the others despite improvements.

I really didn't like Alexandra's Charleston at all and was surprised it was so highly marked. It was the legs mostly as Tabitha says and she's right, a better dress could have made such a difference. Her legs looked ungainly instead of crisp and neat and her arms were a bit unbalanced at times and not in sync with her partner's.

I do like the way Shirley explains about the more complex footwork she sees and the difficulty.

From what I have heard it is a shock who is voted off tonight just going by a message I got :-S :-S

Tabitha

Tabitha Report 3 Dec 2017 18:06

I agree - I saw a message on FB that it will be a big shock tonight - nothing anyone expected.

Is Tess expecting?

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 3 Dec 2017 20:43

I said didn't I? Got me old crystal ball out, and there it was.

Not really surprised, I didn't think the Argentine Tango was his strongest dance. Putting him up against Alexandra was a no brainer.

Two dances each next week, so that will sort the men from the boys..............and the girls!!

:-D :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 3 Dec 2017 22:17

Well Davood didn’t stand a chance. Still think it should have been Gemma in the dance off. The public definitely seem not to like Alexandra.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 3 Dec 2017 22:26

I can’t warm to her because she is so simpering

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 4 Dec 2017 05:56

Aww, poor Davood:-(. I did actually think he danced better in the dance off...such a shame to see him go :-(

I was hoping that it might be a shock exit like Aston ... wishful thinking on my part :-(

I too think it should have been Gemma in the dance off with Davood, with Davood to go through to the Semis :-D

........And then there were five couples :-0

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 4 Dec 2017 08:35

I really really hope that Alexandra doesn't win. I have always had the feeling (rightly or wrongly) that she entered as a 'star' and expected to do well because of her 'fame'.

McGee did so well, considering her bad back.

Yes, I was wondering if she was strapped up under that dress David!

Surely it must be Gemma next week!

David

She's remarkable for a woman nearly 60
