I'm very happy that Joe won.
I would still have been happy if it was Gemma or even Alexandra who took the glitter ball.

I think I'm in the minority but, I did not want Debbie to win as I think it flies in the face of what Strictly is all about....non dancers, learning to dance!

Other minor celebs have turned the show down because they already had dance experience.

If my Sophie is selected next year she will win hands down. She will be like a breath of fresh air gyrating across the ballroom floor with huge standing ovations from all those present every week. ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) :-D :-D

I think we can put this thread to bed now for another year. <3 <3

Maybe GP, your Sophie will take part next year. :-D

Thank you to EVERYONE who added to it, and I think Joe was a worthy winner, and we agree he should have won. He was so delighted, and that is the spirit of the show.

So..............until next year...................God Willing.............when we start all over again.

Well done, Joe the best man won :-D

Seriously though I think on the whole he did deserve to win. :-D I can remember thinking early on in the competition that I didn't think he would last the course as he looked so wooden :-( But over the weeks he has learnt so much and been able to make it look sooooo effortless :-D He also seemed comfortable dancing close or apart from his partner :-)

A very satisfactory result :-D :-D

I did like the routine danced by all the contestants which covered some of the more memorable moments...it did make me smile :-D :-D

Well done Joe :-D

Alexandra had her high early on in the competition and that put the viewers against her.

Think Joe was so popular and very smiley.
I always think it’s harder for the men as they have to lead in the ballroom
Well done.
Must say they all did extremely well....best ever final in my view.

Good luck Joe. I wanted Debbie to win it but Alexandra was pulling out all of the stops tonight and I thought she had won it hands down and I think the judges thought that too.

Have really enjoyed the thread, thank you so much. MTG.

I seem to be the odd one out as I wanted Alexandra to win. I thought that she was the best and didn't get any of the bad vibes from her that the rest of you did.

However I liked all the finalists, and think that Joe made tremendous improvements. He chose the right dance Charleston, and was interesting, entertaining and wonderful all evening.

As the judges marks have no bearing on the final result I don't think that they really matter all that much. Perhaps the fact that he was marked behind Alexandra worked in his favour, encoraging people who mightnot ha e voted, to actually do so.

I am very pleased for him, he has said intakes Two that as a youngster, he wanted go get into musicals. Strictly should help him to get his wish.
A worthy winner.

Good luck k to Joe and as the other contestants ; especially the finalists) in the future.

Well mine were but it did look very pointed tonight

Its been an amazing year.

Thank you so much for the thread and for being a wonderful group of people

Loved it this year so much

Added an Edit

Amazing Joe was the winner so very excited last night even OH did did a very loud yes and fist pump.
If not him i would have liked Gemma as she was really good last night and both her and Joe were not dancers when they started.

I loved Debbie but she had done ballet and run a ballet dance school for children.

Was very pleased to see that Alexandra did actually congratulate Joe on his show dance and Charleston very nice to see - perhaps she has learnt to be a little humble after all.

I think Alexandra would make a good Tina Turner in the new story of her life..

Have now had a quick look at previous scores.

Debbie - did Salsa in Week 8 Scored 35.

Alexandra - did American Smooth in week 3 Scored 33

Joe - did Viennese Waltz in week 3 Scored 32

Gemma - did Pass D in week 4 Scored 35.

Without counting Week 5 which was the week with only three judges. -

Debbie has six dances marked lower than 35.

Alexandra had two dances marked lower than 33

Joe had three dances marked lower than 32 and also scored 32 for his Fox Trot

Gemma had ten dances marked lower than 35

~~~~~~~~~~
Salsa details. Only seven couples danced the Salsa. This includes all four finalists,
Debbie came second Alexandra came top.
American Smooth details. Eleven couples danced the American Smooth. This includes all four finalists. Alexandra was beaten by all the other finalists.(as well as Davood)
Viennese Waltz details. Eight couples in total danced the Viennese Waltz. This includes all four finalists. Joe came third, being beaten by Debbie and Alexandra.
Pasa D details. Thirteen couples danced the Pasa. This includes all four finalists. Gemma came =3rd with Dzvood. She/they were beaten by Aston and Alexandra. Who scored 38/36. Note Joe danced Pasa in week 5. He scored 26, as he got a 10 from Shirley, he could have got a high score from Bruno too. (Shirley and Bruno seemed to mark close to each other). Just mentioning it so that a true comparison can be made ( or guessed at).
Haven't got my seasons score sheets with me at the moment, so can't check how each couple did in the dances that the judges have picked.
I understand though, that the judges chose dances that they think the contestants can improve on, now that they have more experience.
From this I understood that it wouldn't be either their worst or best dance, or one that they had done in the last couple of weeks.
If I have time before the show starts, I will get back to you.
Meanwhile I'm going to have a well earned nap.
I did see that Mr. M. I dunno if some of them are STARS though!
The Final tonight! From 6.30 to 9pm. What a long old stint!
Very excited, but dreading the outcome if I am not happy with the result, still, we can but vote with our fingers.
