Oh Lor. The fiasco that is Halloween!

Looking forward to the dancing, but not the costumes or make-up.

Bah, humbug!!

MotownGal Report 27 Oct 2017 19:25

Saw Shirley dancing the jive on Take Two with Vincent.

I can see now why they call her Queen of Latin. What a mover!

MotownGal Report 26 Oct 2017 18:57

Well.............just seen the two of them on Takes Two. Doesn't seem to be much wrong. Over reporting?

Better he stays away in bed than spreads whatever he has got around. they are always hit by bugs aren't they, it's the time of year for them.

MotownGal Report 26 Oct 2017 15:16

AJ the partner of Mollie is sick and has taken to his bed, according to the papers.

She is rehearsing with other members of Strictly.

Will he be well enough on Saturday?

I read that Craig has been in agony with pains in his hip(the second one ,as he had one replaced a while back) ,but he is seeing this years series out.

Also the article stated that Darcy had had hip op.
Maybe all those high kicks can cause problems in later life.....just a thought!

Me too Ann.

I don't want to see their freckles...............I want to see their fleckerls!

:-D :-D :-D

Yes, the dance off was a fair one this week. Ruth's face was a picture and I think she was sure it would be her. I don't think she's going to last a lot longer.

The standard of dancing in general seemed to have really gone up a notch this week, but is it me or are the dresses less revealing this year?

The camera men really annoy me on dance shows MTG. The times I have wanted to see the feet in a tap routine and the camera is all over the place.

MotownGal Report 22 Oct 2017 21:53

Yes Brian was right to go. He has panto season soon, he can concentrate on that fully now.

Simon next week to go. I reckon he will be in the dance off with Ruth.

Loved Anton's pink outfit. Very 1970's.

(not that I know ANYTHING about the 1970's)

;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Enjoyed the show. (Both nights).

Very pleased with the result .

I think we are all agreed who should go. But what do we know? :-D :-D :-D

One thing I did notice last night was the filming. I think it was one of the waltzes, and the camera man was going with them, then against them, I almost had motion sickness. I think I would prefer some long shots, to see their feet, rather than twirling along with them.

:-) <3

Craig seemed a lot more talkative last night and his take off of Bruno was brill :-D :-D

At the outset I didn't think I was gonna like Susan but she gets a 10 from me for energy and the look of sheer enjoyment. :-D

I like AJ and I thought their waltz was lovely :-D

Debbie was so sexy and as for her gorgeous legs....shows it's not all doom and gloom for women of a certain age:-D :-D

It's getting serious now...Simon & Brian were both entertaining BUT they should be in the dance off :-D :-D

I thought Craigs’s impersonation of Bruno was great, I still can’t warm to Shirley.

I thought the dance off was correct this week, though obviously I won’t spoil it for those who prefer to wait for the pretend live Sunday show.

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 22 Oct 2017 08:45

I really hope that it is Simon or BRIAN. (Not saying who I would prefer to go)

Debbie was great, and Joe looked like he was dancing and enjoying it. Perhaps a real turning point for him.

I reckon that if Bruno had been there there wouldn't have been so many couples in last place (i.e. four!). Which might make a difference in the dance-off. But we will never know.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 22 Oct 2017 08:25

Aah Debbie was glorious!

I has to be either Simon or Brian surely?

I am loving Susan too. The sheer joy on her face when she is dancing is a sight to behold. She is in her element dancing with her hero Kevin, and putting her heart and soul into it. Sheer commitment on her part, I hope she goes a bit longer in the competition.

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 22 Oct 2017 01:06

Thanks for the info. re Bruno Nyx. I suppose that as the first time I realised that Bruno wouldn't be judging this week was when it was announced on Friday (Takes Two), I thought that it might have been "new news" to the programme organisers too.
Now that I know that I was wrong about that, i.e., they knew before the show started, so Bruno did actually honour his commitments, I can forgive him for having one evening off.

There are still a couple of "not very good" competitors in, and I'm hoping that I'm wrong about there being only reasonable or better dancers in the dnace off and that at least one of the off "not very good ones" will be in the dance off and leave. (as long as it is not Susan!!).

Rambling

Rambling Report 21 Oct 2017 19:14

The BBC was aware before the show started that Bruno had commitments elsewhere at the same time....one weekend missed out of 13 years of being on the show !

Obviously crossing the Atlantic every week isn't ideal, but the man has to earn a living and just doing Strictly here won't cut it.

Anyway, why is SB the ONLY judge who apparently can't even be bothered to do a bit of a twirl, let alone a dance, at the beginning of the show? I thought perhaps I'd missed it as I don't always see the show opening, but that's two weeks now she just wanders on with as much chutzpah as someone walking into the supermarket.

Claws away ;-)

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 21 Oct 2017 18:13

I cannot understand how Simon is still there. His dance last week was a bit lacking, but he must be popular. I must admit I don't know who he is! Apart from what I have read since the show started.

Dreading next week with all the Halloween palarvar!

:-(

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget

TessAkaBridgetTheFidget Report 21 Oct 2017 18:01

I was very disappointed in Bruno too. Perhaps he won't be back next year, if that is how important he thinks Strictly is to him. A right slap in the face for all concerned with the programme if he didn't make this clear before agreeing to sign up for this years show.

i have an uneasy gut feeling that it will be two surprise pairs in the dance-off this week (possibly Debbie and Mollie) but I'm hoping that I am wrong.

Don't know if ithas already been mentioned - Brendan went out last year on week sis, he was dancing with Anastasia and they were doing The JIVE!!

Haven't got details of previous years to hand, but hopefully it doesn't become a boggy dance for him.

looking forward to tonights viewing.

Annx

Annx Report 21 Oct 2017 13:18

You can understand people saying it shows where his priorities lie. Whatever is said about a busy work schedule, he chose to do the american show instead of Strictly. It's the way to lose his popularity.

It isn't fair to the contestants either to not have a consistent judges panel for each of the dances as the marking is likely to be affected. The judges seem to look for different things according to their own dance backgrounds, so the balance isn't there if one is missing on a show, unless they all take 1 week off.
