Well I’ve got my JCB out and did some digging and have sent for his marriage certificate and his daughters marriage certificate too as I think she is my connection via her husband.
Does that make sense?
Thank you all, I couldn’t have got that far without you help x.

Is Prulain from a transcription or have you seen the image of the document containing it?

I would suspect that it is a poor transcription of bad handwriting.

As for which version to use, I would tend to go with the most recent version especially if there is more than one instance of it, but do examine the originals. Most tree programs have an alternate name facility.

Bobtanian, I’ve yet to find out where the name comes from because it is spelled Prideaux, Prideux, Prulain, or Pridean all th same person so I’m sending for birth certificate, trouble is I don’t know which name to put on my tree when I do eventually get it.

Prideaux/Prideux loads on freebmd, predominately from Cornwall.

Prideaux is a genuine name. I have come across a person with that name.

Prulain or Prideaux, I'm wondering if it has been mispelt and if so what from.
