I won't be going to Norwich. Have been there before when I visited the Norfolk contingent of the family once and I did have a night in Lynn when I worked there, Duke's Head,company paid.

OH has booked first two weeks in November so it will be some time then.

See if you can find Britain at Low Tide, it was about the Essex coast at Maldon, West Mersea etc and about old vessels left to rot.

It would be easy for me to meet you in Sheringham or Cromer, it's only 25 miles from here or if you wanted to come into Norwich I could meet you there.

There was a b and b in Sheringham that looked interesting, I think it was called Burlington Bertie's.

Frinton in Essex was a lovely place to be, a kind of time warp and the house we rented was good value and probably as cheap as a b and b for a few days.

What dates are you thinking about?

It was bad enough with just the one at Wavers Farm. and Julian's bl**dy dog.
It was (allegedly) trained, but went through bins, and after my ducks.
Many a morning I'd be woken by shrieks of 'Fisher, Fisher come her you *****', followed by a knock, and a very apologetic, sheepish Julian asking for his dog back :-D :-D :-D

Orford are good for smoked fish (that you probably hate!) :-D
There are 2 pubs there, close together - the Jolly Sailor and the Kings Head.
One of my ancestors ran the Kings Head - when we were up there mum didn't want to go inside! :-S

You can be sure I will be avoiding the museums. Not my scene at all.

It is not unknown for us to pop up to Tiptree for a cup of tea and a jar of jam.

Did once work in King's Lynn and my late friend Audrey's old dad was a show shepherd whose father had been show shepherd to George V. It will be good to see some of the places around Sandringham that he used to tell me about time and time again.

I can tell you there were forty-two married keepers on the Sandringham Estate before WWI, because he would tell me at least six times a week. His sister died at around the time Prince John died and they are buried either side of the path at Sandringham Church I belueve.

Sharron, you could 'nip over' to Little Walsingham and do a spot of 'pilgrimaging'.

There are some lovely places to the West of Tiptree, we used to live in Blackmore End - I was a fully fledged Ag Lab there - even a member of the now defunct Allied and Agricultural Workers Union :-D
I worked for Julian Courtauld - when Wavers farm was a farm, and the barns weren't perfect development as de-luxe houses, when it still had a church and two pubs :-(

Rowhedge looks like it may be on your way down. My ex would recommend it - but that's only because he owns a house overlooking the river.
The place a lot to do with boats in times gone by, but it appears the museums are centred around Colchester (also a nice place)

plus the chance of meeting Rollo who is part owner of a cottage in Cley-next-the-Sea with rellies in Sheringham and just outside Norwich. The first job I ever had was picking blackcurrents for Wilkins at Lyons Hall, Essex.

Well,Liz, you have been pestering me for long enough.

Now the kind woman has put Fred's mate right off Blackpool, we are thinking about coming to Norfolk.

I have heard there is a good deli in Hunstanton, for reasons I don't understand myself I think I would like to go to Cromer and want to have a look at Cley-Next-The-Sea because it is a silted medieval port.

I think we will probably find B&Bs, it has always worked before, and then come down the Suffolk, Essex coast. Take F'sM into Wilkinsons and visit that excellent fabric etc. shop in Tiptree and take him over the Elizabeth Bridge.

Think that will be enough white knuckle excitement for me.
