Here's the latest scam.

From (supposedly): [email protected]

It's actually from: [email protected]

Telling me that £130+ has been sent from my account to Gareth Minion.

Looking at it, I wonder if the scammer is using St Andrew's Uni email address?

I often get emails saying a payment has been made from my pay pal account

Whilst I did set up one many moons ago it's never been used
The security on pay pal must be suspect if it can be hacked and people's info be accessed
I just delete any emails and block them

I've never had a paypal account, but I get occasional emails telling me that my account has been hacked :-S

I had one the same yesterday and we wondered if it was someone at the university! I also had another for Paypal, slightly different, a couple of weeks ago that was also a scam. It told me to click on 'cancel' if I wanted to stop the payment. They are trying new tricks all the time.

Paypal security is excellent.
Spoofing email headers is beginners stuff but popular as so many people fall for it.
