My punnet of grapes bears the instructions "Wash before eating".

I had a shower this morning, does that count?

Maggie, we've lived in Bunbury for 31 years and would still be regarded as 'outsiders' if the original population hadn't been diluted by more of 'us' :-D

The 'old' families are still around, but no longer have any influence around the place :-D :-D :-D.

Speaking of humour, when working I held a high position in Local Government and I've come to the conclusion that the only reason that I wasn't sacked was because the Council viewed me as the Court Jester.....I'd sometimes talk sense, but was a constant source of amusement!

Council got round that problem by offering me a voluntary redundancy, which I was more than happy to accept :-D :-D

...personally, I find small villages easier - they openly 'suss you out' and you're a 'local' within 3 years!

...or not! :-S

I know exactly how you feel, Allan.
I've lived in many different places, with many different 'views'.
I'm not out to upset or insult people, but different areas have different views.
I was at the bus stop with 'Denny' last week, we got talking.
Denny has lived here all his life, adoptee of a couple of children, an ex railway worker, then deliverer of newspapers, now, a widower aged 80+, and uses a walking frame.
He asked how long I'd lived here:
'About 28 years' I told him.
'Nearly a local then' he told me :-D :-D :-D

BUT, I've realised , after such an accolade, that what I say (and I tend to speak my mind) isn't offensive, (well, locally, anyway - and I won't take short shrift from any 'youff') -D :-D

I'm actually quite shy, Caroline, until I get to know people. One boss, in a reference that he gave me, described me as more of an introvert than an extrovert.

I'm ok once I get to know people, but I am also aware that my 'humour' is not to everyone's taste :-D :-D

Not a sign as such, but the following news item made me chuckle:

http://www.news.com.au/finance/work/leaders/jacinda-ardern-faces-major-compromise-with-new-zealand-first-coalition/news-story/2e3c61211523fd1529774569404cc590

The second paragraph is the one!

Why would anyone keep a fence in their trackpants?

Perhaps it was enclosing the playground to prevent accidents ;-) :-D :-D

On my morning constitutional this morning I walked past a Launderette.

There, on the wall, was a sign.

The sign read, 'Remove clothes at the end of Drying Cycle'

A mental image immediately flashed through my mind of hordes of people all stripping off when the dryers stopped!

I still don't know how my mind works, or even if it does!
