I suppose there a 'lemons' with every electrical/motorised gadget - seems like you got one, Andrew :-(
Good luck with the replacement :-D

what is the point these days of a laptop computer? I work in IT and have not used one for over two years.

At home or small office a desktop or ultra small format machine will do the job far better than a laptop and cost half as much. On the road smartphone / tablet will do fine. Once at work with modern software any terminal connected to the net will bring up your current Windows/Mac/A|Android session. No wonder laptop sales have crashed along with the sales of expensive laptop bags.

Anybody placing their digital conjones in the care of Windows 10 is making a grave mistake. Once "support" from Currys and the like is factored in the mistake becomes a disaster.

By far the best value if you must have a laptop is a Chromebook. My OH uses a fairly beefy one and hardly noticed the disappearance of Windows.

That's really irritating. Hope it's sorted out soon Andy.

How absolutely frustrating, Andrew. At least it’s still in warranty.

Bought a new laptop less than a month ago to replace existing which is about eight years old, has aquired much junk over the years, runs slowly and won't open some files because software is out of date.

Turned new one on this morning and, nothing. Just a blue screen staring back at me. Grrr.

So its back on the old one again.
