Ah the Man drawer ..... keys, string, knives, nuts and blots some of which might match, maybe a candle half used ..... the list is endless .... one things for sure what it won't hold is whatever you need right now.

There is still one key in the drawer with a fortieth birthday key-ring on it.

Yes in my searches in a key box I started many moons ago there are umpteen keys that I have no idea what they belong to
Won't throw out just in case

Meant when I was trying for the lost keys I went through all the keys trying them in locks , very time consuming

Oh Shirley.
I seem to have the opposite problem.
My keyring still holds 2 old keys.

I guarantee that if I take these off and put them in the bin, my OH would find them and put them in "The Man Drawer"

The locks, still attached to the doors were removed 8yrs ago when we put an extension on the house!

Our electric garage doors were removed and put in the skip at the same time.
I'm pretty sure that the old remotes will still be in that drawer.

I did get rid of some of the records along with his clothes to charity shop and gave a lot of things to s.i,l who is tall and similar size to late husband.

I did take stamps to local auctioneer, but commission charges were so high and I was then advised that they should go to specialist sale as have such a large collection of albums and collectables ,and haven’t got round to sorting that yet.

I have been dealing recently with an online dealer and got rid of a few of my vintage things..must stop being sentimental about some of the things...Its old age I’m afraid...don’t think a lot of younger ones have the same sentiments!

I moved on a big collection of music cds
Hubby too liked classical music but some of it was too deep for me

I did keep some of the popular classics that I enjoy listening too

Also passed on a big collectiion of DVD and blue ray movies and a big collection of paper back books

All went to the Sense charity shop where I donated his clothing

Also donated lots of my clothes that were too big for me because I have lost over 3 stones from all the stress of his last illness and then losing him

Oh.they are mostly Opera Bob. I am not that much into that although I like my classical music and jazz, but apart from some arias,I’m not keen. Will have a look through and see what I’ve got.
Going off to see my jazz band tonight,so will hopefully look over the weekend.

Brenda,do you have a list of the 78's?

Shirley ,I know what you are going through.
My husband died 6 years ago .since he died I had a remote control on garage door, lots of jobs to make life easier, like block driveway.
This last week I had my gutters cleaned as I had greenery growin in them after all the moss the gulls left there.
My conservatory started to leak after Storm Brian. It never ends.

I also still have a load of 78 records and cd s,Stamp collection.
I find most men are collectors going OTT.
Good luck with it all.
Must say,the garage door was a great idea.wish I’d had it years ago!

Well haven't found the spare key but have found a key fob thing with plastics
They have record of the car with some refs nos and another plastic string thing with another number
Seems it is the key nos and the plastic thingy number is the radio ref

What he did with the spare key is ????

Thankfully I have the remote control fob as when he had to give up driving I took over

So have ordered a new key and getting a remote controlled one that has to be programmed ,going to cost me over £200 but i feel it's worth it as if I lose the original I would only get a replacement that didn't do the remote as you have to program from the original one

Hope this is the end of the key dramas

I am so organised that not finding was very frustrating

You know after you've changed everything/got replacements you're going to open a drawer and find all these keys right? :-D

So am still sorting things

Have had several jobs done around the house and the garden
Have had the pergola replaced as it was rotting

Then decided to get the garage door replaced with a remote controlled one as the spring on the old door was about to fail

Hubby had built a platform over the door to store the Thule top box and this had to taken down to accommodate the new door

SIL said don't dump it as it's worth money!,

Yes but then couldn't find it keys but the lock did have a number so got some online and it's been sold on eBay

Then his mobility scooter !!!! Sold one last year ok but the bigger one was stored in the garage.
Yep couldn't find the keys !!!! Bought two from different websites but not right ones

Daughters Mil is having mobility problems after having hip replacement ops and she was keen to have the scooter.
Did manage to get some keys and it needed new batteries cos the old ones had failed from none use and she has taken the scooter and is well pleased with i

So now . I have only the main key for the car that is remote control one . I took out key replacement cover but then they wanted it's code which I don't have

Ringing Ford dealer we bought the car from and they may be able to read the key if it's isn't too worn

No idea what hubby did with the spare key or the record of the number

But with some digging and through paperwork have now got the key number and have ordered a new remote controlled key which will have to be programmed when it comes in

Hubby certainly had a problem with keys . No idea where he put em for safe keeping

Hope this is the end of the keys problems

Bet he is laughing up there and saying I tried to fool you

He will get some serious talking too when I see him. Lol
