Has anyone got any advice on how best to access any records from there? I have purchased a platinum membership hoping to pick up more overseas clues but don't seem to be able to find anything. I may just be being dim! Thanks.

There aren't any records on here for SA, the best you may find is a connection via trees.

Ancestry took up some of the SA records but they have not been released yet, you can try https://www.familysearch.org/ Otherwise googling the names and area can be productive.
