Thanks for the tips. kay that is almost the same recipe I used but mine had coffee liquer added as well. Yes I did have a wee tipple myself..lol how could I not.

Maybe it wasn't at the hottest level and need to check my wattage!
It tasted ok and yes was very sweet!

Thanks again for the tips

Ingredients
500g caster sugar
5ml vanilla essence
1 tin condensed milk
100g butter
Method
Mix the butter, milk and sugar in a large, microwaveable bowl.
Microwave on high for two and a half minutes or until the butter has melted. Stir.
Microwave on high for 10 minutes, pausing every few minutes to stir. Add the vanilla essence during the last stir.
Remove from the microwave and pour the mixture into a greased shallow tin.
Cool at room temperature and cut into squares when cooled.
Handy Hint
Very sweet, so don't use as much sugar if you don't have a sweet tooth.

perhaps it didnt reach the right temp>?all microwaves have different heat outputs,,,,maybe you can put it in a saucepan and give it a gentle boil?

Maybe your microwave wasn't as quick at cooking as some?? Or you drank too much of the liqueur whilst mixing it :-)

Has anyone made fudge using a microwave?

Today I followed a recipe from one of the xmas food mags exactly. I poured the finished mixture into the square tin and left it to set.

Sadly some 6 hours later, it is still soft and resembles a creamy toffee mixture!

I am very disappointed as had bought all the ingredients especially including a bottle of coffee liquer at £8.00!

Cant think what has gone wrong. I stirred the mixture every 2 minutes as it stated etc.

Any suggestions please?
