The Panorama program is just the tip of an iceberg. Neither is there anything new higher education scams, often linked to non-EU/UK students, have been common for 20 years. The fraud is embedded. May tried to get a grip on it while Home Office minister but didn't get far. Brave Dave would not countenance certain communities and donors getting upset. Now Amber Rudd has the hot seat with lukewarm support from May. Hey ho. |

Last night's Panorama raised two issues, people in jobs with qualifications they had bought, not earned, and people getting three years student maintenance grants while not actually studying. |
