Never on the look out myself Sharron, but from what some people have said (those who don't have the hide of a rhino) who have just buried a loved one ( or dying themselves) might be upset by the lack of sensitivity?

If you are on the look out for something to be upset or offended by it is certainly an opportunity.

High vis vest maybe a health & safety requirement.

snorts inelegantly at that Allen :-D

Maybe that's exactly it, it's a protest against under staffing and cutting the NHS back to the bare bones!

Probably operating with skeleton staff :-D

Have they had a lot of complaints about waiting times? :-D

I should have remarked to the receptionist 'not a very good advert that is it?'

Perhaps they're 'doing up' one of the rooms and it's parked there during building/decoration? And the builder has used it as a coat rack?... :-)

It's a centre, so there are about 5 or 6 Dr's , I've seen 3 before ( never the same one twice) this one's new.

No one else in there waiting, though a few picking up prescriptions, so couldn't judge if anyone else thought it odd :-)

Ann, I did wonder about it being a Halloween leftover but still not seeing the relevance of the high vis vest lol.

About right Nyx , but saying that I don't usually have much problems getting an appointment at our doctors.

I wouldn't be surprised LaGooner. They used to have a morning 'walk-in' clinic, now it is approx a 3 week wait unless it's an emergency. I've had one phone app't which was just for a prescription, but was phoned about a month ago for an appointment today as the "Dr wants to discuss the results of the nerve test you had, following receipt of letter (from the relevant dept".

So in I hobble,

Dr :"what can I do for you"?
Me "well you called me, about the letter from the musculoskeletal clinic?"
Dr "ah yes that's all just to let you know we've had a letter from....."

Rather strange Rose to say the least. And did anyone at all remark on it or were everyone's eyes averted? Perhaps it was left over from Halloween!!

The dead can do us no harm.

The pile of very outdated & much thumbed magazines in many waiting rooms does intrigue me.

Rather the sort of thing you can often find in a junior houseman's cubby or a frat. house.
Just when did your doctor get his M.D.?

It is a former patient who's waiting for an appointment :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Just been to a Dr's appointment, new Dr , new receptionist, new appts system...but what took me rather aback was the new 'feature' behind the reception desk. A skeleton wearing a high vis vest.

It doesn't bother me in the least, but if you were elderly, or had just lost someone I think it might be a bit of a shock to see it hanging there?

Having something of a gallows humour, I might have been tempted to ask if it was a former patient... but having several people close to me just getting out of hospital or recovering ( not local) , I wouldn't want to tempt fate!

Opinions?
