We did have a clear out of his man cave and to be fair he did throw some stuff away we then put the rest in tidy order, one of the things he had in there was a motor from a single tub washing machine “just in case” but it had been there for over 30 years. |

If we didn't regularly throw stuff out, we'd not get in the front door by now. |

I won't throw anything away because I feel insecure and worry about whether I would be able to afford to replace it, even though I know I easily could. |

To date he has two double wardrobes, one 5 draw chest of draws and 4 under bed draws. I have two single wardrobes and 4 under bed draws. |

I try to understand why people can’t or find it difficult to throw or give anything away but haven’t got there yet. |

One of the first things that I purchased in the UK, immediately after decimalisation, was a very nice shirt. |

My OH is just the same. We were at the rugby club for Sunday lunch yesterday and were discussing this very thing. He has wardrobes that are bulging and also lots of old rugby tops (which granted ARE in the loft) but that he wore when he first started playing rugby aged 16. He's now SEVENTY for goodness sake and still won't part with them!! |

DetEcTive+++ Not a chance of any of it going in the attic, might just as well leave them in the wardrobe, he should learn to give or throw things away ?? :-D |

Could you persuade him to store the clothes which don’t fit in the loft? At the very least it’ll give him the comfort they are still *his* & he’ll have more wardrobe space. |

I'd be ashamed to give some of my clothes to a Charity shop given the state of said clothes. I suppose I could get a few extra years out of some of them if I turn them into rags (not much turning required) or dusters :-D :-D :-D |

Allan, I’m not suggesting he ditches it, a lot of it is far to big for him now but most of it is in good nick so could go to a charity shop. |

Hubby, whom doesn’t like throwing anything away has loads and loads of clothes including coats and shoes. In one of his two wardrobes the rail broke under the weight so he put a metal rail in now so I don’t bother ironing his stuff because it becomes creased, apart from throwing out some of it what would you do? |
