A group my OH belonged to had a Christmas dinner in the week before Christmas that was attractive to both parents with children (Santa Claus and his elves visited) and to older folk (excellent food).

That was the start of our Christmas ............ the tree was bought and decorated over the following weekend. Everything came down, packed away, etc on the evening of Twelfth Night.

Our eldest has a birthday approx. a week before Christmas Day. We used to put the tree & decorations up a couple of days before then. The beginning of the month seems much too soon.

Kay ............

re ",,,,I always wonder how they clean their house full of decorations gathering dust for a month........ "

I also wonder that!!!

I know my daughter and her OH put up the outside lights last weekend, and that they will have the tree up and decorated this coming weekend, along with lots of other decorations. That also involves some moving of furniture (including "banishing" to upstairs).

I also know I won't look into the corners of rooms when we arrive in about 3 weeks time ;-)

nice to see that GR is on the ball, but it's a bit early don't you think??

Certainly is for me!

I'll have forgotten they are there by the time Christmas week comes around

But then, we've never decorated until the weekend before Christmas.
