I can't remember a time when a full moon didn't freak me out.
I knew it was there but, I avoided looking out last night.

I had to go out early this morning and although it had been raining overnight, the sky was bright and very clear.
As I turned the corner, there it was, right in front of me.
Massive, white and very scary.

On the road back, I knew it was directly in my line of vision and tried to avoid looking at it.
I have no idea why but, I do not like a full moon!

Strange but it did not seem as big to us as the one a month ago. Just a glimpse then it clouded over.

Closest the moon's been since 1948. There's another due soon.

Hello Maggie!

I have just spotted it!

The moon is bright, shiny and crystal clear.

But it seems higher than usual to me.
Perhaps its because its late and I have drunk too much tea!

Lovely to view though.

Take gentle care, Maggie

Dear Jacqueline, Purple and Joy,

Hello,

I can't seem a blooming thing!

There's way too much mist and even fog.

Now that's just typical.........a rare celestial event and you don't even get to view it!

Take gentle care

I've just taken a look before I go to bed and it is very clear and bright, looking as if it is wondrously suspended above us. A highwayman's moon, I think.

Edit: although, personally, I think a highwayman's moon is a moon covered by haze, enabling a highwayman to hide under filtered cover, it is more romantic to think of a big, bright 'galleon' as it is described in the poem.

Thanks Elizabeth.

Dear All

Hello

December brings a “Supermoon” or what astronomers call a “perigee full Moon.”

Specifically, the Full Moon crests on the evening of Sunday, December 3 and reaches “perigee“—the point in its orbit at which it is closest to Earth—early morning of Monday, December 4.

When a Full Moon rises at perigee, the Moon appears bigger and brighter, so
it will appear 8% wider and 16% brighter than average.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Native American cultures which tracked the calendar by the Moons, December’s Full Moon was known as the Full Cold Moon or the Long Nights Moon.

It is associated with the month at the time when the winter cold fastens its grip and the nights become long and dark.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This month's full moon is in the astrological sign of Gemini, the mutable air sign.

People feel more restless, discontented and fickle.

However, with the intensity of the full moon and the unusual planetary activity,
it is wise to take things slowly, defer decisions and think.

Slow down and relax.

Appreciate the sight of the full moon and what nature has to offer.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take gentle care
With best wishes
Love Elizabeth, EOS
