Fred's hair went through grey to white, my grandfather's hair was white and had probably been grey before that and we are all on the ginger spectrum. I mentioned that my hair was mouse at work once and one of my always charming colleagues said than mine was more likely to be rat.

I am entirely grey but a bit silvery about the temples and am just hoping that is the beginning of my white hair. It still spikes up quite well with a bit of gel.

I'm a staunch follower of the Homer Simpson hair style. Unfortunately, I have no other choice.

Anyone want to buy my redundant comb? :-(

Oh I like that description! My very dark reddish-brown hair let in a lot of grey in my 40s and even before that I used henna sometimes as well as mahogany hair colours. When I got to my mid 40s being in the sun turned my dyed hair much blonder due to the amount of grey so I began using an ash blonde colouring. Probably due to genetics, my always thin fine hair, became even sparser so I stopped colouring and let the colour grow out. My hair is now way past my shoulders and a mix of dark hairs and white ones so a steely grey. I did nearly colour it purple for my 70th last July but chickened out! It's so easy to just scrunch it up in a sort of bun at the back of my head.

Been there, done that, Elizabeth.
My hair was jet black - first white hair found aged 16.
Henna'd it, and dyed it over the years (didn't like the 'salt & pepper' look) - then aged 55 had it cut (it was very long), used a dye remover - realised it was a lovely shade of grey/silver all over - and that is how it is now. :-D


'Grey' is such a boring sounding colour though - hence I shall, in future, refer to it as 'Arctic Blonde'.

Oh, yes! I forgot to add with lots of white appearing.

Methinks its time to get the hair colour box out and apply too the ole barnet.
