I am thinking, especially at this time, of our dear friend Huia, our Kiwi friend, who left us a year ago this weekend.

I received a lovely card from her son, just after last Christmas, telling me of her death, and I was heartbroken to learn that Huia was not found until a few days after she had died, so died alone. The cause was put down as a third stroke, after the two mini strokes she had over previous months. I hope Huia didn't suffer and knew nothing ss soon as the stroke happened. I sm sure she and her husband Phil are resting in peace together now.

I spent 3 weeks of Nov on holiday NZ and passed through a town called Huia.
She immediately came into my thoughts.

I have missed sending a card too.

Huia left a wonderful legacy of family history and local knowledge as well as all her fsbulous photographs, her family must be so proud.
