Either way, the broadcast(s) gives the preacher a certain kind of pulpit eloquence in engaging imaginatively with language that even the non-believer can comprehend - sort of.

the R4 service is live, ordinary people who have queued for hours. The tv service is a recording, invited congregation. Both a celebration of our Lord's arrival adding to the ranks of the poor, homeless and dispossessed.
