We do, usually holding about £30 each. Its mainly used for general expenses of less than £10. Our main card isn't a tap&go meaning its a hassle getting it out all the time.

A neighbour gets out £70 per week to spend, some on grocery shopping & some in virtual jam jars, saving up for larger expenses. In her case, it helps her to budget. She's 'of an age' and can't cope with the internet or electronic transfers.

I do :-) but then I don't go out or spend much lol.

I usually use cash when I'm food shopping locally, I don't like contactless, but find tapping in pin with bad hand while trying to hold the reader steady with 'good' hand, and juggle a bag on my arm is not worth the bother :-)

D uses his card/s more because he uses one for business and it benefits him to do so.

£2 each way is a necessity for the bus when I go into town, which I try to avoid as much as possible lol.

I have to say that I don't. We draw the huge sum of £20 every month and that's it.

Using my bank card (just so easy to tap the contactless card) means I can see what we are spending money on.

I have seen many reports of bank details being stolen from contactless cards but I have always taken precautions (so to speak).

Besides after our card was cloned by a garage and we were phoned asking us if we were in Poland? hanging onto my card seems the better option.

I haven't had a single penny in my purse for about 18 months...lol

Hubby holds the £20 'cos he has pockets
