I had an email today to say that ours have been approved. We are getting just short of £150 between us which is more than I thought

That's interesting i will haveto check date hubby did his one . Think it was 2013 if so I will claim as I did his probate

He did the one for his finances and I did activate it in 2015 when his health went down

That is good to know. I didn’t notice that bit, just that it said the money would go into the donors bank account. I suppose if you had probate, there is no reason you can’t claim and split the money between any beneficiaries

I just spotted a little paragraph in the Sunday paper, I haven’t noticed any publicity about it

You can claim after the person (donor) has died as well, but have to phone the number given. This may apply in my MIL and FIL's case so thanks for posting Linda.

The amount varies between £37 and £57 depending on the date Typically ours are in the lowest amount, but we both have a health one as well as a money one, so we should get four lots of £37 back.

By coincidence, this afternoon our neighbour has asked me to 'certificate' the EPOA she & her daughter are arranging.

As she said she's had the forms from early last year, I'll suggest she checks that the fee, as printed, is what she now has to pay.

That's great, but just one small point - it only applies to England and Wales.

It seems the government charged too much for fees between April 2013 and March 2017. So anyone who has taken one out can get a partial refund. It is between £37 and £57 depending on the date.
You only need to claim once even if you have more than one. They will search for all of them in the persons name
