Are you actually the only vegetarian that attends Sharron, most unusual today. Couldn't you have had your OH's spring rolls if he is not veggie and he could have got extra of the remainder. Well you pay subscriptions so the food was not actually free and you should be as entitled to a share as everyone else.

I really don't mind there being little provision for veggies. It is, after all, my choice and the food was free, paid for from the subscriptions.

I was just peeved by the pettiness.

In this day and age I would have expected more for the veggies amongst the group!

It's a shame they didn't have a vegetable fried rice, or cold rice salad.
It would have been a more 'balanced' meal with the pork & chicken dishes - and more tasty for you - and other vegetarians!

We belong to a social club but only really go there once a month for the quiz where there is a free buffet.

There is no other reason for us not attending more frequently than that they don't offer very much that we enjoy doing and we would not go out just to drink,neither do we avail ourselves of the free drink our membership entitles us to on birthdays and at Christmas.

As members,we received e-mails telling us of the Chinese New Year celebrations where they would provide Chinese food.

While we were queuing, I asked the steward if there was any vegetarian. He said that there was a pork dish.a chicken dish, plain rice and some little spring rolls that were vegetarian so I just picked up four little spring rolls.

Unfortunately, there was a committee member guarding said spring rolls and there were only two allowed per person so I had to put back two of the ones I had in my hand. I explained that I was having nothing else but he was adamant that they didn't have many.

Now, I don't want special treatment but I am sure those people going up for second and third large helpings of the chicken and pork dishes would not have resented my having two extra spring rolls.
