Had a ring on the door at 11am . Thought it may be a parcel I was expecting and thought wow that's brave as am snowed in with about 8 inches of snow

Was my next door but one neighbours checking I was ok and did I need anything
The hubby was clearing a path of snow across the front too

Had a chat and they said they were just checking as I live on my own

I am ok for food as have plenty in the freezer but was running out of milk

Have rolls in the freezer so it's just milk

The hubby went up the road to the little local shop and got me some milk

Now they are both retired so not youngsters and really are nice people ,
When my hubby died they sent flowers and asked me in several times for a cup of tea and a chat and said ask any time if you need anything or just want a chat

Remind me very much of neighbours we had when I was a kid when neighbours looked out for each other and we would call them auntie and uncle with the surname

Good to hear that there are some kind neighbours around.

Mine are great too.

Earlier this week there was a knock on the door and my neighbour was there with a bunch of flowers. She had been away when it was the 1st anniversary of losing my husband, but wanted us to know that we had been in her thoughts.

That was really lovely Shirley, I to have lovely neighbours I’m not allowed to drive so always relied on my husband to take me shopping but my neighbour takes me not all the time cos i am very independent and can get to the local shops and when I am away they look after the place for me, also I let her husband park on my drive and use my garage so I hope I’m a good neighbour

I am so glad you all have good neighbours who check on you and help out. It means a lot, doesn't it?
