We are none too keen on chips, especially oven chips but I was wondering if we might get to eat things we have not made because we (I) don't like the faff of deep frying.

I have one and have used it a handful of times, I just can’t seem to get away with it. I don’t like deep fat fryer or chip pans, so got this but don’t use it at all, it’s tucked away in the cupboard

Still thinking about it.

Can you tell me what you cook in it please?

I have one Sharron I bought a double action one that was two tiered and you coukd do meat etc on the top layer and chips etc underneath
It worked beautifully but then hubby got taken ill and it wasn't used again

I gave it to our daughter and she loves it . I do like chips occasionally but only done in the air fryer as they are crisp but not greasy and I missed them so i have bought a basic small one so I can still have the occasional chips. I use oven ready ones that don't need any oil to cook them

I have one, there are only two is us at home, I use it probably 4 times each week.

It's cheap and cleaning it afterwards is easy.

When chips are wanted I throw in chunky oven chips, no oil. They cook brilliantly.

I use foil to line the two trays so no washing up :-D and it seems daft but we eat a lot of fresh fish and the kitchen doesn't seem to harbour the smell.

I have had one for a while Sharron, a great machine I would not be without it now

Thanks for that.

The multi-cooker is a deep fat fryer in one of it's guises and I think it has been used as such twice. It has a basket. It is a very good steamer.

Don't think I have ever made a stir-fry. I expect the instruction book would tell you how to do that in an air fryer though and I would hope it came with some recipes too!

Sharron,
I asked for a small Deep Fat Fryer for Christmas and my family gave me an air fryer.
I've never used it because I never get the chance!
My daughter who bought it, uses it almost every day.

Most of her recipes are from Slimming World or similar but they do taste good
( chicken stir fry type of stuff)
It is pretty noisy though and chips take quite a long time to cook !

NB: No faffing with oil.
Most recipes involve a ight marinade made with a tiny bit of oil so theres no need to add any

After much deliberation and having seen it in a sale, I bought a multi-cooker and I am very pleased with it,it is earning it's keep.

Now I have seen a hot air fryer, in fact, it was on a shopping channel and it is a hot air cooker which does other things as well as fry. We don't very often eat chips because I don't like all the faff of making them and am not very keen on proprietary oven chips.

If all the fiddle of oil was not involved, I am thinking we might get to eat more of the (cheap!) food that is usually fried although I am very unlikely to wrap an Oreo in some kind of dough and air fry it like the woman on the television did.

Have you got an air fryer? I it worth having one? What do you think of it?
