Barb go to search catalogue and put 1939 in the search and it should came up :-D

Hiya Barb,

Click on Search at the top and then select Card Catalogue.....the 1939 Register is the first collection.

I would think they will make it a lot easier and more obvious to locate in due course.

This is from Ancestry: - We are very excited to confirm that the 1939 Register will be officially launched tomorrow, when it will be fully available through all the search tools on the website.

I searched my grandparents and found them but my dad was born in 1937 and is still alive. Shouldn't he show up on it as I cant seem to find him?

Florence - he definitely should NOT show because he is still living!

Open records are supposed to only be for
Those born before 1915
Those who died in England/Wales before 1992
Those who have died since then, where FMP (not sure about Ancestry) has matched their death reg against an entry.

If there is 'closed' record, that could well be him. If not, was he evacuated? You've no chance of finding his closed record unless you know who he went to stay with.

Thanks detective.Sorry didn't realise that if they are still living you couldn't access them! he wasn't evacuated, was only 2 then hes 81 this year.
