American style food - Denny's, Castles, Ruths, TGIF is far from pervasive in the UK. Most popular are pizza ( not the US style deep crust ) , hot and spicy Asian food , Chinese, TexMex. At least two burger chains have gone bust in the last year.

In London if you don't mind crossing the river there are lots of places selling / serving Afro and Caribbean food and ingredients which is v tasty but you need to be ok with chillis and so on.

I have never heard the term "sloppy Joe" applied to anything in the UK but have heard it used of low quality fast food in the USA. Baggy sweaters are currently in style or rather were before the current hot weather hit.

US agriculture can only be described as a major ecological disaster zone. Much of Trump's ire against Canada is rooted in the country's determination not to give in to US agribiz. Good for them.

Last time I looked (online), hamburgers were all over the place, pizzas, American style (NOT the deep crust kind), were all over the place.

Macdonalds were so pervasive you could hardly move. The only place that was worse in terms of quantity was Starbucks.

Castles & Ruths??? Never heard of either of them.




Did you know Wendy's was the first American burger bar in the UK ........... opening in the early to mid-1960s.
