I tried to log in to Ancestry today

Up popped up this page.....

COPIED & PASTED

www.ancestry.co.uk -Additional security check is required

Powered by Incapsula
Why am I seeing this page?
The website you are visiting is protected and accelerated by Incapsula. Your computer may have been infected by malware and therefore flagged by the Incapsula network. Incapsula displays this page for you to verify that an actual human is the source of the traffic to this site, and not malicious software.

What should I do?
Just click the I'm not a robot checkbox to pass the security check. Incapsula will remember you and will not show this page again. We recommend you run a virus and malware scan on your computer to remove any infection.

END OF C & P

Should I click on it or is it a trick???:-S :-0

Thank You Joan :-)

I want to activate my DNA on there so I can send my sample off before the Christmas stoppage!

It's just happened to me on Ancestry.

If this happens every time it is going to send me up the wall. Doesn't help that the pictures are so poor you can't really tell if the thingy is in the picture or not. I had to redo one box.

grrrr…….

I've done a scan of my laptop

"Scan finished, 3 issues were found

No viruses found
! Vulnerable software found
No bad browser add-ons found
! We found issues on your network
! Performance issues found
No weak passwords found

RESOLVE ALL (box)

So what will happen if I click "Resolve All" I'm wondering?
Will it disable things ... like my Nikon camera driver, my printer etc.?
Will it take my files away?

Totally terrified of all this technology! :-0 :-0 :-D

Thank You Namelessone :-)

I was worried it was a fake page or something so I'm glad I'm not the only one

I tried to log in on my phone and it said there were issues.

I get these little exercises to prove I'm not a a robot when I do market research interviews - never occurred to me to object as obviously they try to stop mechanical multi-invasions. Should I mind?I'm pleased to prove I'm real!

I've had those little tests on several sites.

Doesn't worry me .............. they're a common way to make sure that robo bots are trying to sneak viruses in.

Don't panic ................ just do it.

It's saving your computer and the other site from getting infected by viruses ............... or the Russians trying to control life and spread fake news!!!!!

PS ................ if you do fail the test, they just give you another one to do.

I once had to do one 3 times :-D

I'm one of those who log in and out - I don't keep myself logged in to any site.

After yesterdays Robot I find that Ancestry have changed their log in box.

Now we have a big padlock next to it with a message "Please sign in for secure access to your Ancestry account".

How else do we gain access to our accounts? :-S
