Allan

Allan Report 29 Dec 2018 01:52

No need to be confused, Caroline. I think that you may have seen the post before I deleted it.

It was about me hanging around just to annoy (though I did use another word) the RR'r.

I thought better of it and deleted it, obviously before the RR'r saw it

Caroline

Caroline Report 29 Dec 2018 00:26

There you go memory not too bad then....and yes the initials do mean something else :-D

Allan so what was actually RR then if you deleted it...now I'm getting confused!

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 29 Dec 2018 00:07

Oh yes, I forgot to mention, Fanny Adams an 8 year old girl who was murdered in Alton in 1867! :-S

Sharron

Sharron Report 28 Dec 2018 23:56

She was a little girl who was murdered and legend had it that the meat was hers.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 28 Dec 2018 23:54

It did initially refer to naval meat rations, Caroline, but her initials gave it another meaning. :-(

Allan

Allan Report 28 Dec 2018 23:42

I deleted it, Caroline, before the RR'r had time to report it.

I was in shock after hearing the news that they are not making shortbread any longer ;-)

Caroline

Caroline Report 28 Dec 2018 23:39

I seem to think Fanny Adams might have been local to the south coast....what was it the army didn't like the tinned meat and they all called it after the missing/murdered girl....really would look it up but cooking a very late dinner for family :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 28 Dec 2018 23:38

Well that I can believe so expect you to be RR again soon you only have yourself to blame :-D :-D :-D

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 Dec 2018 23:12

Allan's post was totally inoffensive Caroline, I read it just before it got rr'd. Mine was more offensive than his for sure :-|

Caroline

Caroline Report 28 Dec 2018 23:05

I'm sorry people been busy all afternoon just hitting the boards now...so the highly offensive OP was finally RR and never saw what Allan wrote but knowing his normal gutter humour I'm not shocked at all :-D :-D

I think this proves the RR has been RR for the sake of it and not for any offense at all bless....this is a sad time of year for some people and I think this is a result of that......as for the story still laughing and yet that wasn't RR LOL

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 Dec 2018 22:55

Genes really need to sort the RR'er out as you say. They spoil the boards becoming fun again like the old days. :-|

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 28 Dec 2018 22:50

Gordon Bennett!

Has genes got a rule where spoilsports, who randomly report posts can be banned?

Allan was using alternatives for rude words - what's wrong with that?

Even my old granny would do the same - we (eventually) knew what she meant by Fanny Adams, because, when asked if there was any cake, she'd say, 'There's Fanny Adams', and we knew there wasn't any one in the larder, let alone anyone called Fanny Adams.

LaGooner

LaGooner Report 28 Dec 2018 22:25

Oh dear Allan you are under attack again. :-0

A sobering warning. This could so easily happen to any one of us!

**DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE!**
Well, it had to happen. I am the most vociferous person I know when it comes to drink driving, with the abundance of cabs today, there is just no need for it. But I got caught last night, absolutely stupid of me, I know, but in my defence, I wasn't actually driving. Well I was, but I hadn't intended to. We had a party at our house, and cars were parked right up the street, there wasn't any problems though, as all my guests had been courteous enough to park considerately, and the people who were going to get a cab home were parked on our drive or outside our garage. I had put my own car on a neighbours drive as they were meant to be away for the holidays. Anyway, just after 2 this morning, there was a knock on the door, and it was my neighbour who had to come back, most of my guests had already gone, so they asked me to move my car so they could get into their drive to unload their car. So, not thinking, I grabbed my keys and pulled my car onto the side of the road. Just then, a police car turned into the street and stopped, as I got out the car, they were watching and the driver flashed his lights, beckoning me to come over to them, which I did. The policeman said to me that I looked a bit wobbly and asked if I had been drinking, so I explained exactly what happened, my neighbour supported my story as well, and the policeman seemed sympathetic to what had happened, but then said "would you mind blowing into this bag please". To say my world fell apart might be an understatement, but here I was, getting breathalysed and knowing I would fail, I had after all been drinking for a number of hours by now!
To cut a long story short, I was arrested and taken to the local police station where I was asked to give a sample of blood or urine. I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to needles, so opted for the urine sample, the policeman explained to me that the roadside test wasn't usable in court, so the results of my sample would be what any prosecution was based on. I was given a small bottle to pee into, and was escorted to the toilets, they watched over me while I filled up the bottle, then took it off me for analysis. I finished going to the toilet, and was escorted back to my cell. What seemed like an age later, I was bought from my cell back to the custody room where they told me my results showed I was 5 times over the drink drive limit. So it looks like I am going to lose my licence.
After they told me all this, the police officer left me in the custody room while they went to get some paper work. I felt like breaking down and crying, but then I saw it. He had left my sample on the filing cabinet, so I quickly put it in my pocket and sat back down again. A few minutes later, the policeman came back, and filled some forms in, then I was escorted back to my cell to sleep off the effects of so much drink.
About an hour later, I was rudely awakened and dragged out of me cell and back to the custody room.
It was at this point, I was informed I was not only getting charged with drink driving, I was now going to be charged with taking the piss as well!!!
I hope you all got right to the end, so I took the piss out of you lot too!
