Bev that's the wrong cert for the details of the person you have given as grandfather.

Can you please check as the birth cert you have is this one

That is way before the Edwin George on this thread, as you can see from the dates. And that cert is NOT the man who married Phoebe, the ages are all wrong.

I have my grandfathers bith cert and confirms his mother was Mary Ann Lellaway and his father was Frances. I cannot at this time trace backwards and find any records of Frances. Help would be good thanks

Bev, Sadly it seems the Edwin from Portslade was suffering from depression as per the service record, there are several reports in the newspapers. Will PM if wanted and if this proves to be the right person.

I am trying to find out who were my fathers fathers parents. His name was Edwin Standen and married to Phoebe Sedley. Any info would be helpful
