At least three of my threads have been whooshed. AFAIK members cannot whoosh a thread only GR staff can do this. I got no sort of feedback from GR.

In reply to Dermot's post I included a quote with the f word. I thought it would get RRd so posted a warning (quick come see) but nothing happened until Dermot himself removed the thread.

Some threads get RRd v quickly others only after some time. As RR is rare on weekends and taking account of whooshing I am minded to think that some of the RRrs could be GR staff.

I don't think it's likely to be GR staff Rollo. Unless they have a staff member who likes to look in from home? They don't send any notification of why any more as far as I know, to anyone.

Who have you upset this time ;-)

I may have missed one of your threads but other than use of the F word as part of a quote on Dermot's deleted thread I don't remember seeing anything offensive?

Anything I post hostile to BoJo ends up being whooshed. Never at weekends. Members cannot whoosh threads.

If you have not seen it catch up on BBC4 "The Civil War 1642" 3 parts .
While taking us through the 50 days that led to civil war it also has a running commentary on the parallels with the here and now.

I did post sometime ago about my conspiracy theory that it was GR staff reporting posts.

My comments were done with humour, but basically my reasoning went that many people said just that they were not renewing membership on the site due to the constant RR'ing of posts.

GR staff, adopting this line of thinking, then reported random posts so that more users would quit the site.

Then when 'x' number of people had left GR could say that the decrease in membership levels meant that it was no longer viable to keep the site going. :-S
