Thanks for the reply’s and I have used Scotland’s people and would never ask anyone to use there credits.

in case you do not know, Scotland's People is NOT a subscription site. One has to buy credits to look at information on there.

It is not fair to ask people to spend their own money to buy those credits, though sometimes someone might have a few credits to spare that they will us to help another person.

On the 1861 census James gives POB as Aberdeenshire so that may help,

You can check against the census on Scotlandspeople also to see if any of the possible James baptisms tie in with a father George Henderson as an engineer.
