Iran and Italy have been hit hard haven't they, wonder if they failed to heed advice regards screening etc, now we're all paying for it!

Well just learnt we have 3 people that have got the virus in West Yorkshire now.
2 in Leeds came from Iran and the other From Bradford has travelled from Italy.

I often worry, for selfish reasons, when fellow bus travellers would appear to have a very distant relationship with soap & water. :-|

Strange this about it surviving on surfaces. Yes I have seen it can survive on bus/train handles etc, then I saw a scientist saying the virus can't survive long off the body. Masks have run out in many places here. They don't work to protect you and, in my opinion will give false confidence. Far better to try and avoid crowded areas and practice good hygene. I don't find the thought of catching the illness as frightening (worrying?) as much as I do the thought of being whisked off on my own leaving my OH on his own at home, Or him being whisked off where I can't see him. :-(

If you all remember back in the 40's/50's when Measles and such diseases were going the round the country.

We had a 30 day incubation period.

Still should do that today with this virus.

The Chinese say the virus is still strong even with 14 day incubation period.

Your main problem is when someone is going around coughing and sneezing, you can't not breath and they say the face mask, as a rule, are pointless. Your main defence is washing your hands and not touching your face, easier said than done we all do it without thinking and hoping you don't breath it in. I know the virus can survive quite a long time on surfaces I wonder how long it hangs in the air so to speak....

Yes it would be nice to know if it's actually in your immediate area, rather than a general 100-mile radius.

Now two cases in Gloucestershire, one in Cotswold area, not sure where the other is and a school shut for deep clean in Buford Glos (Cotswolds). I actually wish they would immediately say the area that an infected patient comes from, that way others in the area would be extra vigilant.

Maggie re Boris…. Hes apparently engaged and has been before xmas, girlfriend due early summer so shes about5/6 months and hes still married to his wife with 4 children by her!!!

Does he think he will get a quickie divorce with property and children involved? I think not!
But this news is very important hence its up with the flood stories and the virus.lol

Just heard on the radio 2 more cases confirmed in uk. One I think in Derbyshire.
This week we had a cruise ship from Norway dock in the harbour and the passengers came onto the island for shopping and tours!!! Why on earth did our council allow them to stop here.
So far we have no cases of the virus but getting a cruise ship here is the last thing we need should have just sailed on by.

We get loads of cruise ships coming here during the year but for now I think the council should temp stop them until this virus has passed. Its the only sensible way to try and contain it.

As for people moaning about losing their money on their hols to Italy etc....please get a life.Stay at home and be safe for now. The money can be replaced but people dying from this virus cant!

I'm not sure that's possible in many ways Sue but at least there should be better screening and education. Most of the people over here seem to have gotten sick within a day or two of getting here, and covered their faces etc and seen a doctor. At least one person though has been wandering around for over a week before showing major symptoms.

The governments should stop flights from all over the World instead of bring the virus into the countries that have a low count of people with the Virus.

Have to admit all the latest cases here are now from Iran.

Much more important for Johnson to declare that his sperm work, than to hold a cobra meeting about coronavirus - or to acknowledge the worst flooding in 30 years, for that matter!

It does a little when they say one of the latest three is just back from Asia.

We now have a third case in BC connected with the woman who travelled to and back from Iran.

Italy is the danger point for you at the moment, and probably also for the rest of the world.

The experts here are making a big point about NOT blaming any one nation or race.

We now have the first case in Gloucestershire but they have not said exactly where. Although we do know at least two Gloucester schools have recently returned from Italy. We also have a very large Asian community in Gloucester.
Before we knew this we went in to town on the bus and had lunch in Wetherspoons. So..... fingers crossed.
