Dermot, you are sooooo deeeeep!

Since you mention it, dtr is a much better and nicer Christian than I am! <3

She just never worries about marrying her socks together! :-D

You made me laugh Maggie.

I thought dtr was losing it but it seems she just doesn't care. :-D :-0

'Don't sweat the small stuff - they are hidden from view' is the response. :-D <3

I wonder where she got that from, I ask myself ..... :-D

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 14 Feb 2020 23:59

....but when you reach a 'certain age' and wear odd socks, will you be thought of as 'really trendy', or just 'losing it' :-(

grandson (10 next month) has some deliberately unmatched socks. I looked at them a bit quizzically when I saw them, and daughter said "It's OK, Mum. They come like that!"

Rambling Report 14 Feb 2020 23:25

:-) Island,

Son is a big fan of unmatched socks, his are black with a coloured heel and top (M & S sets for Christmas ) so it doesn't really matter which colour, a nice purple and green combination etc :-)

:-D :-D@ Linda.

I have a couple of pairs of socks which are odd by design :-D

Sorry Rose, I seem to have taken your thread into the realms of the missing sock
:-0 :-D
In answer to your o.p. - I know nothing :-S

There's a thin line between being trendy and the 'oh bless, she's got odd socks on' though Florence :-D :-D

I try to buy the same kind ................ but find that even 1 year later, the manufacturer has made changes, which may even be making the sock shorter by an inch!

"Updating", you know

It's not as bad as trying to buy the same type of shoe when you've found a really comfortable pair .........

........... here many companies only have styles on for one SEASON, let alone one year. That includes walking (or comfort shoes, as they call them), not only fashion shoes. They make little tweaks ........... which can make a big difference in the actual wearing.

I once had two pairs of identical shoes, one black pair, one brown.pair.

yep one time I had to got hospital for a family emergency....and yep i was wearing one black and one brown.

as Allan says the pair at home were odd, as well!!

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 14 Feb 2020 10:12

Sylvia, I only have a couple of different 'types' of black socks, as I tend to buy one 'type'.
Also, even if they're different 'types' - once on - no-one, not even me - can tell the difference.

Obviously, I don't wear a long sock with a short one :-D

Allan

Allan Report 14 Feb 2020 09:26

Now here's a conundrum, when you wear an odd pair of socks, even if they are composed of fifty shades of black, which sock is the odd one?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Feb 2020 08:55

I am with you there Sylvia. All my socks are black, but it really annoys me when I end up with two different types. A couple of years ago, I paired them up as best I could and donated them, then bought a whole batch of new ones. Since then I have added to them, so I am back to square one
