Future generations of genealologists will miss the censuses.

I was disappointed that the 2011 one only asked for first and family names, no middle ones. That will make identifying persons so much harder.

How fast life goes when your child your always complaining how long the days are and how life is so boring little do we understand how fast it goes when we are older days turn into weeks weeks turn into years before you know it i remember looking forward to the 1911 census because that would hopefully tell me where in Canada my g grandmother was born and it did and it opened up another line granddad was very naughty because I found out I had a load of g aunts and uncles that not even my dad spoke about my granddads youngest sister only died in 2000 when I contacted her son he did know he had any uncles so it will be a big shame if it’s the last one I think it’s money well spent :-( :-(

One of the Q&A's via the link RTR gave to FMP

Is there any way I can view the images for free?

Anyone will be able to view the images of the 1921 census for free online at The National Archives. The original census document will not be available in the reading rooms and there are no plans to produce microfiche. Searching the 1921 Census will be free on Findmypast but viewing an images or transcriptions will not.

That's given me the heebie jeebies - release of the 1921 census may well be the last one released in my lifetime (provided that I'm still around in 2022)!

I am glad that 1939 was released.

2052 before the next release by which time I'll just be a memory.

It don't half make you think ..... :-S

some people have all the time in the world

My Brief sweet life is over,
My eyes no longer see.
No summer walks
No Christmas Trees
No pretty girls for me.
I’ve got the chop,
I’ve had my lot,
My nightly Ops are done.
Yet in a hundred years,
I’ll still be twenty-one.

The usual suspects will publish it Jan 1922.
People over 100 can have their record blacked out on request.
Oooh RTR I can’t wait for the 1921 census due 1922 :-D :-D

There will be various ways of shelling out - an FMP sub will not cover it.

It doesn't seem possible that the 1921 census will be out next year.I can remember when the local archives were trying to raise money to buy the 1881 census.

How times have changed.

I read that this morning, I wonder which sets of records they will use to plan for services in the future?

I worked on the 1981 census (when it was coded and punched onto 80 col cards), it does become rather tedious after having coded some thousands of responses :-\

It is possible that the 2021 census will be the last.
