Further Restrictions

Allan Report 26 Mar 2020 08:22

New restrictions for Australia generally

Weddings, no more than five persons; the bride and groom, the celebrant and two witnesses

Funerals, ten persons which includes the celebrant, family and Funeral attendants.

Pictures from over East show panic buying of alcohol. It's as bad as the Great Toilet Paper Rush of 2020 :-D

No problem here in the West, restrictions on the sale of alcohol are already in place. :-0

The Police here are rubbing there hands at the opportunity to further erode civil liberties :-D :-D :-D

I wonder how soon, if ever, after this crisis is over, all restrictions will be lifted ;-) ;-)

nameslessone Report 26 Mar 2020 08:30

I hope the police are remembering to wash their hands afterwards.

:Its for rubbing down the body as an sanitser,,,,,,acting responsible. .

:- ;-) :-D :-D.

Allan Report 26 Mar 2020 08:45

I'll take my ration internally. I have no wish to dilute my alcohol stream with anything red other than wine :-D :-D

Kay???? Report 26 Mar 2020 08:52

:-D :-D.

Allan Report 26 Mar 2020 09:00

Well, if alcohol applied externally kills the virus, the little b*ggers stand no chance with me internally ;-)

JoyLouise Report 26 Mar 2020 09:41

Allan, and it ain't even Christmas when brewery workers hold everyone toransom until they get their pay rise!

Beer in short supply here too. While OH can't drink it, he doesn't even buy gluten-free beer as he does not like the taste. He can drink cider but, sadly, we have not been able to get any in our area. He is, however, cheering himself up with a whisky in the evening - one bottle left before he starts on the other spirits and wine we have, luckily. As long as he does not touch my Pimms we will get along nicely. :-D

ZZzzz Report 26 Mar 2020 10:16

My Aunt in Perth is recovering from chemotherapy and doesn’t drink alcohol, and her exercise is walking round the big park opposite her house, luckily she goes with her niece so she doesn’t feel like she is on her own.

Kay???? Report 26 Mar 2020 10:32

blinky heck Allan,,,,,,,,,just think if you won the lotto this week, you wont be able to re-stock the cellar,,,,,there wont be a Fosters to be had.... :-D :-D.

Allan Report 26 Mar 2020 10:52

I don't drink Fosters. In fact I really don't drink much beer at all, but when I do it's Guinness, Kilkenny, or Emu Bitter :-D

Fortunately, I'm cutting down on my alcohol consumption :-(

My new GP has ordered a liver function test as part of my diabetes review and I know what the results will be.

It was nice while it lasted ;-)

Barbra Report 26 Mar 2020 10:59

Time to make home brew keep you busy & well supplied that's if you can get kits to do it , think of the fun tasting your own :-)

Allan Report 26 Mar 2020 11:34

Barbra I did brew my own but not with kits. I started around 1970 and used barley, hops and malt extract.

I only stopped a couple of years ago as trying to source the individual ingredients became more difficult.

I also made my own wines :-D :-D

PatinCyprus Report 26 Mar 2020 12:50

You have to ask permission to go out here. I send an SMS message with code 6 and almost immediately I get the permission to go out.

Code 6 - dog walking and exercise category - allowed out but must stay near home and can take 1 other person with me as long as we are living in the same home at the moment.

Allowed out doing this over a 3 hour period and must take my phone and an ID card or passport with me - this is being policed, 150 euro fine if you are in the wrong area or no ID or permission. I walk the dog morning and late afternoon. You are allowed out as many times as you have to be out.

OH is doing the shopping as you need to use a sanitizer then put plastic gloves on to go into the shops - I'm allergic to the sanitizers.

Dermot Report 26 Mar 2020 13:19

Drink to me only with thine eyes
And I will pledge with mine.
Or leave a kiss within the cup
And I'll not ask for wine.

The thirst that from the soul doth rise
Doth ask a drink divine;
But might I of Jove's nectar sip,
I would not change for thine.

SylviaInCanada Report 26 Mar 2020 20:25

The province of BC brought in new stricter regulations this morning ...........

........... British Columbians are no longer permitted to resell food, medical supplies, cleaning supplies or personal protective equipment such as masks and gloves

........... The amount of such goods that consumers can purchase is limited, to prevent hoarding and resale.

............ The province will work with retailers and suppliers to enforce the quantity restrictions.

............. Police will be able to enforce the anti-resale regulations, and the BC Prosecution Service will be able to lay charges. B.C.’s Emergency Program Act allows for penalties of up to a year in jail, a $10,000 fine, or both.

............ The province is creating a new supply-chain coordination unit to ensure that goods get quickly from warehouse to stores to customers.

Plus there's more relief for renters and landlords.

Anti black marketeering measures!!

Allan Report 27 Mar 2020 09:54

Australia has done the same thing, but the horse has bolted

Dermot Report 27 Mar 2020 09:57

A New Jersey bishop has permitted his flock to eat meat on Fridays for the remainder of Lent.

Allan Report 27 Mar 2020 10:39

Whilst not yet confined to barracks, sorry, our homes, we are confined to our Regions.

That will affect my niece who has a 'holiday property in Yallingup, but lives in Perth.

She will be spitting chip as she would normally spend Easter there.

Spend $900,000.00 on a property and you can't use it :-D
