Interesting reading from the 2019 report.

If the figures are accurate re clothing waste then thoughtless consumers need their heads banging together. If they were paying a sensible retail price then perhaps they wouldn't be so profligate!

Thanks for that sue, it makes interesting reading. But it is dated January 2019. Is that where it stayed, I note one of the speakers said the report should not be allowed to gather dust. If nothing further has been done it must be pretty dusty by now.

I noticed that the worst offenders were not a surprise (except I had not heard of Boohoo until this week. All the time cheap clothing is available we can't blame people for buying it, especially if it is reasonably well made and in fashion. But I am amazed that a lot of it is thrown away, I thought current generations were all for recycling so what is wrong with charity shops so that items get more than one life.

Thanks Sue. i knew that there had been concerns raised previously about pay and conditions in the clothing industry in England 9especially Leicester) But don't recall seeing this before.
