There is a report of house fire in a big house on one of the routes into Chichester with lots of appliances.

Then there is a report of a car and motorcycle colliding and the air ambulance being called.

Rubbernecking?

Several years ago we were hit very hard whilst at the end of a queue of traffic by a driver who said he didn't see us. The police arrived and almost immediately we heard the squeal of brakes from a car going in the other direction but looking at our accident instead of where he was going. The policeman went over to him and said why do you think that big piece of glass in front of you is bigger than the one at the side of you - try looking thro it rather than being nosy.
At least mobile phones weren't so common then so other drivers weren't stopping to take photos!

Cornish Sue :-D :-D

I had one of those 'You were in an accident' calls yesterday.
I was a bit mean, I asked when it was.
When she told me, I said it couldn't be - I don't drive, and haven't been in a car since February, so perhaps she'd better take me off the list and try to scam someone else! :-D

i didn't know about the fire at West Ashling yesterday. Can't think why I would it has nothing to do with this one at Apuldram.

Have there been any other fires in the Chichester area this week Rollo?

Well, Sharron, you mentioned big house - the link RTR gives mentions agricultural buildings.
There is a difference,to me, to you - to most of us! :-D :-D

However, we have been warned - just remember folks - don't even consider posting 'yesterday's news' on a genealogical site :-D :-D :-D

Maggie - we continued getting those calls for at least 2 years after our accident, just put the phone down on them after saying nothing to do with us.

I get them on and off, Sue.
Strange thing is, I don't drive, and have never been in an accident.
It does make you wonder who they buy their list of phone numbers from :-S

The last one I had I enjoyed very much.

Of course I had had an accident. It was when I and six friends came out of the pub, well tanked, and I hot wired that car that we all got into and which I drove at that other car full of people. Of course, everybody apart from me was killed and I am currently awaiting sentence which will be life.

They have never called again.

We have had two straw fires in the village and the fire that Rollo mentioned was next door to the yard of the daughter of one of our old biddies.

They lost a shed and a lorry so I don't know what the people next door might have lost.

Looks like we might have an arsonist about.
