This morning, a friend from up the road telephoned me. We had news to exchange about all the spectacular goings on in our parts of the village.

I told her that the wooden shed in field down the road had burned down on Friday night (check it out Rollo) and she told me that the spuds are for sale at the farm gate again.

A full life in the country!

Just reminded me, Sharron - I should phone the cat lady!

Is there a rambling arsonist loose in Sussex?

Well, no Ann, Fred's mate stalked off in high dudgeon over a year ago.

I am not really sure what the problem was but I think M had been dripping poison in his ear and he did have his problems anyway.I think that my job was done there in that he was dealing with life much better and, to be honest, I have felt a lot better for not having to tread on eggshells.

We still speak if we see him but that is all. There is no animosity.

Maybe it was time he struck out on his own. And you don't have the responsibility now.
