You got in under my radar there Fly. <3 :-D

How's it been in your neck of the woods today?

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 20 Sep 2020 18:57

Hi Maddie. <3 :-D

When Belle mentioned the planes my thoughts were about Japan so her post went right over my head. :-D

Just put chicken in the oven so if I go missing it'll because I am keeping an eye on dinner.

Afternoon All. :-D <3

Beautiful day here. We stripped the beds and then went for a walk in the sunshine.

Make the most of it before the cold and wet sets in!

We missed the fly past, heard about it earlier in the day on the news, but did not specify a time. If we had stayed at home we would have seen it. We usually see all the fly pasts when they go over Buck House and Westminster. That will teach us to go gallivanting. :-D :-D

Well researched Belle :-D

Or was it on telly? :-D

Afternoon Pat, Emma and Kense. <3 :-D

I agree with Belle, it would have been a sight to see, Kense.

LondonBelle

LondonBelle Report 20 Sep 2020 15:51

Wow, Kense....now that would be a sight to see :-)

It would appear it was three Spitfires and a Hurricane in the flypast today :-)

Kense

Kense Report 20 Sep 2020 15:03

As well as the RAF ones that Pat refers to, there are 75 Spitfires and 11 Hurricanes registered in the UK most of which are flyable. At the Duxford Battle of Britain airshow last year there was a take-off and formation flypast by at least 17 Spitfires.

Belle it is Battle of Britain Weekend and a service at Westminster with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight fly past.

Aircraft to choose from would probably be one each of the following.
1 Avro Lancaster
6 Supermarine Spitfires
2 Hawker Hurricanes
1 Douglas Dakota

:-D

Afternoon Fly. <3 :-D

The District Nurse told one of my old pals that she ought to be shielding still when she discovered that my pal and her OH (both with serious health issues) had obeyed Boris and started to pop into the shops for their own groceries.

Getting ticked off by the District Nurse - that'll learn her. :-0

She took no bleddy notice of me when I told her it seemed to me that Boris wanted to kill us oldies off. :-S
