OH and I both had dental appointments in March. These were cancelled/postponed until June, then September and finally for today.

We were both given the same time, told to arrive on time, to wear masks and to wait outside the door to be let in.

Once inside, the door was locked again, all our coats, bags etc were hung on hooks, our face masks were removed and we were given new ones. Then we used hand sanitizer and were asked whether we minded being in the surgery together. They did this as we were assumed to be in the same social bubble!!

I watched while OH was "done" and then he sat and waited while I was treated. We both need further appointments for fillings but instead of being given them there and then, we were told that we would be telephoned in due course as slots became available.

So, back to the waiting game. :-( :-(

W went a couple of weeks ago.

The best bit was when I had to stand at the bottom of the stairs while the nurse aimed her special thermometer at me from the top. That was quite novel.

We both went recently but no treatment offered unless things get drastic! I have a back tooth that is unfillable so will have to come out at some point. Two others are very loose and I had been in the middle of having my guns sorted out with deep cleaning. That won't continue anytime soon as apparently it just works out far to difficult to be financially viable at the moment!

I will probably end up sunken cheeked and gummy before long

OH went this afternoon and came back with a new appointment for root canal treatment next month.

That's about the fourth or fifth (I've lost count) visit to the dentist in the last couple of months and includes an extraction.

My dentist is near heathrow airport where I used to live I've been with them for about 48 years so when I moved to the Midlands I stayed with them I just got my appointment in before the first lockdown and I had one in september but they rang me and said they did not want travelling on the train so they would see me after christmas

Update: this morning the phone rang. I answered it. A voice said it was the dentist and was OH there. I gave him the phone;

"Yes, yes that would be fine. January 13th, at 10.15?"

I pick up the appointments calendar and a pen.

"Yes, thankyou." He puts the phone down. It immediately rings again. He answers it.

"Yes, she's right here, writing down what you just told me."

I take the phone. A voice says can I come in at the same time as OH ------

We need an emoji for disbelief!!
