One of my close relatives commented on how different the cms were for me and my brother. Checking with some a couple of other rellies showed a huge difference in some matches. It would have been good it we could fully check it out.

Most of the ones I tried to contact showed up as having been a member since whenever and had signed in fairly recently. Some had private trees on there too but obviously weren't interested despite my asking nicely. Never mind eh?
A friend of mine has told me that she recently persuaded her kids to be tested too, not expecting much variation from her .However to her surprise they did show some very useful contacts that didn't appear on hers, or her husband's matches. I know DNA isn't passed down uniformly but she was very surprised at the variations.

If you don’t have a sub I don’t think you get to see very much. It is possible that those ones don’t realise they can answer messages.

One of my brothers got a test last Christmas - he has no interest in his matches so I might be missing out on contacts.

Just had an email from Ancestry saying there is a sale on ( just today ) reducing DNA testing by £30 so £49 instead of £79, so a good way of spending your Christmas money!
I had mine done a couple of years ago, as did my husband and it's been useful in confirming various branches of our trees. I'm really disappointed by the lack of response of some quite close matches tho, why do people have it done if they don't want to exchange info?
Hope everyone had as good a Christmas as possible this strange year and things will surely get better????
