So pleased you got your date. Do try and do some of the physio exercises now - then it will come easier to think about after the op.

Getting a bit apprehensive cos of iron levels

Have tried to eat sensibly even though was putting on weight

Have to admit my mobility has gone down big time ,did try to have a small walk every day but wet and cold weather stopped it since Christmas

At the moment have stand problems big time because my lower back problems too have kicked in

Do go to chiropractor once a month to get it all realigned but lockdown too has made appointments a bit hit and miss

But I really need the knee done so hope it does go ahead and then I can get mobile again

Oh thats good new Shirley. Fingers crossed this time.
I was put on iron tabs before my op even though mine were around 12.5 as a boost. But try having a beetroot sandwich for lunch everyday as that is great for boosting the iron.
Positive thoughts heading your way

I hope all is well for the go-ahead this time.

Don't forget that vitamin C and other vitamins help your body absorb iron, so it might be helpful to boost your diet with extras containing those elements pre op.

When the operation was cancelled in Aug 2019 because new guidelines just issued said iron levels for surgery should be 13.00 and mine was 11.9 they forgot to tell anyone or arrange anything

Oct appointment they realised they had “mucked up “ big time so I immediately had two iron infusions and then a big wait to get an April 2020 date for surgery

My doc was ok with my iron levels anyway as he thought that was my norm anyway

My irons haven’t been rechecked but the coordinator said if it’s dropped they have time to prescribe iron tablets

If your irons have droped, can you get some iron pills form the doctor and take those for the rest of this week???

I do hope that you get it done this time. Good luck!

Maggie

Oh I do hope so. Am getting despondent it will ever get done

Not happy too that I have put on about a stone in weight during lockdown
Not eaten more but no exercise hasn’t helped my weight or mobility

Am almost thinking I won’t get it done :-(

After four cancellation since august 2019 I have now got a date for my total knee replacement for April 15th

Have to have another pre op medical on Friday as my last one is out of date and have to self isolate for 14 days pre operation,Am self isolating anyway as live on my own

Three days before the op have to have a COVID test

My granddaughter was going to take me in last time and will do it this time too

She has to self isolate too for 14 days before but she works from home so that’s not a problem

She was also going to stay with me first two weeks after and that works to cos she can work from mine

Just hoping it doesn’t get cancelled at the last minute cos my irons have dropped again

:-(
