A wee treat for myself

Im not really an arty person but have been to a handful of Art galleries over the years.

A wee while ago, i was in the Co-op supermarket and noticed some tins of biscuits and goodies that had pictures on the tins of brightly painted highland cows etc.

i picked up a tin and read it was by an artist called Steven Brown. So I went on the web site www.stevenbrownart.co.uk and saw the most delightful pictures.
So I treated myself to one called Heather McCoo. I have it framed now on my mantle piece. So as a wee treat on mothers' day to myself, i ordered the large umbrella which the postie has just delivered.
Wow! Its big and absolutely brilliant...love it.
There are a fab selection of other gifts such as cuff links, bags, mugs and all sorts and all of his artwork.
Its really worth a look. The rainbow colours brighten up a dull day

Aaw Florence, I thought you were going to say you'd treated yourself to some paints and were enjoying having a dabble :-)

Haha....I would love to paint but judging by my stick people i could only draw in school and give the kids a laugh, I think i prefer just to admire paintings for now! :-D

It doesn't have to be a masterpiece Florence, it's about enjoyment.
If it's not your thing, fair enough.

Florence, I am with you on the lack of artistic ability. I am an extremely practical person and can turn my hand to anything, but when it comes to art, I know my limits :-( :-(

I visited the StephBrown web site / gallery.
His multicolored art is just the thing in Scotland ( and north London) so I bought a few things. Given the price of his prints heaven knows what the originals fetch!
Even the prints must be a better punt than "Cloth Cap".

thank you for the link
