	It was the anaesthetist who gave me all the gory details when I went to see him a week or so prior to the operation.( I now know why such things are called operations with all the prior planning :-0) As far as my own 'eye' doctor was concerned it was only a ten minute procedure. What the b%%%%%d didn't tell me was that the actual preparation took over two hours, including an injection of anaesthetic into the base of the eye to prevent it moving.

	I went for the first appointment last week and the consultant gave the impression that he was going to mow my lawn rather than poke about in my eye.

	Sharron, been there done that. Walking up the Hospital steps felt like walking up for an appointment with the guillotine. I survived and can now enjoy driving without the need for glasses, but I do need them for reading :-D :-D

	That's true. How worried would we be if we didn't fully understand surgical procedure? They don't have the bacon slice in the Co-Op to fall back on now do they? I don't suppose they have anybody working there who is clever enough to operate one.

	It depends how the operation goes. I may come out of it with no ears. You just can't tell. But, by the cringe, you can't half imagine. Will you have both legs? Or even a lower half at all?

	Nope! I know King Edward VII hospital sold off it's old x-ray machine to a local vet - who than proceeded to charge more to x-ray an animal than the hospital had charged to x-ray a human! How do I know? My sister worked at King Edward VII, until it closed. A year or so later, her dog, Stanley needed an x-ray, and she recognised the machine.

	Or it could be the other way around and they have bought some old stuff from a vetinry practice.

	It may have worn out, but they'll have made even better, finer equipment since then! ...and sold the old stuff to a veterinary practice! :-D
