Until last year the grandaughter of my next-door neighbour lived on the other side of her with her daughter, neighbour's daughter used to live next door so there are four generations I have known.

Neighbour's mother used to work with us and her father was the brother of Glad, Fred's sausage sandwich friend, and I can also remember Glad's mother.

So that is seven generations I have known of that family.

Seven generations back from me in the village is 1775.

So Mary was born in 1935, that makes a lot of generations per century.

They had their babies young! :-S

But still - congratulations to all.

When my eldest grandchild was born, both my grans were still alive - they were 98 and 96 and were B's GG grans. Both died at the age of 99.

I have a photo of the 5 generations on my mum's side.
B's G gran was 72, her granny (me) was 46, her mum was 22.

A woman in Edinburgh became a 3x great grandmother in May with the birth of baby Nyla. The family are thought to be the biggest in Scotland with 90 grandchildren after the birth of Nyla.

The lady in question is Mary Marshall aged 86. Mary’s eldest child is Rose aged 68, Rose’s daughter is Chyrel who is 50, Chyrel’s daughter is Carrie aged 35, Carrie’s daughter is Toni-Leigh aged 17 and Toni-Leigh gave birth to baby Nyla last month.
