Isn’t that why this is called the Chat Board. :-D

maggie ..........

we've had other posters in the past who used to edit posts, whether on their own thread or posted on other threads, either to remove or add something, to completely change the meaning, or to re-write.

Of course we noticed.

Of course they said they hadn't when challenged.

Daft beggars!

I don't know whether you have noticed, but I almost invariably mark a post that I have edited, whether to correct spelling or add a word (eg add "not" when I had omitted it), by adding at the bottom "Edited:- (time) for spelling".

I began doing that when had the major problem last time.

I have also c&p'd postings of people known to remove or change theirs when I'm replying to them ...... that also serves well

I'm on a couple of other sites where there is a limited time in which to edit OR delete a post ......... on one site it is about 10 minutes, on the other about 30 minutes. It allows time for a quick re-read after posting and to correct spelling or omitted words or to clarify a meaning.

I sometimes think that would be a good thing on here, but we'll never see such a change!

To justify their existence? :-D

Edit seems to be the wrong word, pick and choose may be more accurate.

maggiewinchester Report 21 Jul 2021 13:16

No, just a straight c&p.

I wonder why someone would edit replies, then re-post them?
Surely they'd realise the original posters would notice.

nameslessone Report 21 Jul 2021 12:31

I don’t suppose you edited it either.

maggiewinchester

maggiewinchester Report 21 Jul 2021 12:26

I removed it, early this morning.
Mind you, I have c&p'd it! :-D

Edit - I've saved it to word, rather than a list of replies :-D :-D :-D :-D

Edit: and have removed everyone elses comments (forgot to say that!)

I think only the poster can remove the whole thread.

Well, almost. Did Maggie remove her thread or did someone do it for her?
