I'm sure someone will know why there's a gap better 1957 and 1984....... enlighten me please?
I don't suppose there is another way to find out if the death I have is for a particular person? Was hoping to check death year to birth year as you can on GRO - outside of those years.

Thanks all

Von, I'd never realised FREEBMD had the DOB on death registers - I guess I hadn't twigged what those numbers were LOL
Found the death in question and it isn't the person I'm looking for.

There a 50 year gap for births on the gro too

Maybe they just haven’t digitised them yet

They haven't been digitalised yet and there's no money left in the kitty to get to when it started to be digitalised as the norm.

Shirley, thanks but it was the GRO I was asking about. FREEBMD has dob's on death records.

Pat..... ahead of you :-D

Freebmd only has ages from 1866 for deaths which is where GRO is useful as they publish ages from 1837.
After 1866 either site is useful but only up to 1993 on Freebmd

Yes it’s the GRO site I was talking about too

I took a look for the deaths of both my parents who died 1975 and 1980 and they didn’t show

Then thought to look at births
