	Now,here's an extraordinary sensation. Because I was making piccalili, I sent or some resh spices and, while I was scrutinizing the site, I saw some medieval spices listed, so I bought a couple. Long pepper, grains of paradise and Assam pepper turned up and I have tried the first one today. Assam pepper. Have never tried anything like it before but have ground a it an put a grain on my tongue. It is not hot but it makes your tongue kind of zing and it spreads. Must have been aright then if you were posh!
