I didn’t know your driver also had to isolate. Hopefully I’ve got no ops in my future as I have no family member to drive me. Difficult to expect the friends who would have to do your shopping to isolate - or the taxi driver.

Gwynn

I had to self isolate for three days before the recent day surgery for biopsies
Plus had to go for a covid test at the drive in facility at Medway hospital three days before

My granddaughter had to self isolate too for two weeks before the op on April

We most likely will have to do some self isolating this time too

Not so many days, I've heard, but they do require a negative result PCR and then isolation before an op.
Plus
Any person in your household or driving you to the op.also has to isolate.

All this will become clear at your pre-op. assessment, as different hospitals may vary slightly.

Don’t know on that one nameslessone

Did have too in April when the knee was done

Glad to hear things are underway.

Do they still make you self isolate for two weeks before any op?

Absolutely Gynn

They want to sort it whilst it’s still contained

Can’t fault all the NHS services over the fast tracking they have in place

Have said to family that to me it’s an alien in there and I want it out !

Hopefully will know next week when that will be ;-)

So pleased for you that they seem to be really pushing forward with your care.

Sometimes the waiting is really worrying and if something needs doing, I think you would rather they just got on and sorted it.

Keep upbeat and look forward to brighter days post-op. very soon.

Well results phoned to me on Friday and yesterday a call from Maidstone hospital to go next wed 15th for consultation with gynaecologist and a pre op assessment.

Seems it’s going to be pretty soon they get me in

How impressive is that

Well done!

The NHS is working fast.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that they don't make you wait too long.

My cousin in Australia was one who did wait, unfortunately.

So good that you acted early in getting checked and now have every chance of having a successful outcome.
I hope you don't have to wait too long for your op.
It sounds as if your team are working together well and everything will soon be sorted.
Good luck.

Will be thinking of you.

So had a CT scan last Tuesday and today got a call from the hospital

It confirms the cancer is contained in the womb and not spread

Consultant in Medway hospital has already been in contact with oncology and gynaecology surgeon at Maidstone hospital and today gave them the result

So now it’s now waiting for Maidstone to call me to get a pre op assessment done and hopefully a date for a full hysterectomy

They will biopsy it after removal to check was contained but may also remove some lymph nodes just to make sure

Whilst it’s still a blow it seems to be the best result in the circumstances.

Was told you did the right thing getting checked, many ladies ignore bleeds so condition gets too far advanced to treat successfully

:-(

Sorry to read your news, Shirley, but so good to hear that you are being fast tracked for treatment.

I hope all goes well and I admire your 'get it sorted' attitude.

Shiirley .............

that's just what happened to me back in 1995 (and again, a second time, in 2011).

I had absolutely no symptoms, no pains, no lumps, doctors couldn't feel anything ....... in my case, thank heavens for mammograms.

But to get that phone call from the doctor 3 days after having my first screening mammogram????

Let's get this over and done with!!!!

Here's hoping you get called for the op soon <3 <3

Well done getting checked out Shirley. Best wishes and I hope all goes well for you. I found a hysterectomy far better than I expected.
